i know the scheme floating around is wrong...
did anyone ever figure it out?
i have a pic of one side the sanner ones board if anyone want to check the resistor  code off it (im color blind)
just really want some ventures bumble bee tone!

Harry

Sure, post the pic. I'll try to translate them, I'd be interested in correcting scematic too.

o built one but gaven't boxed it up because i didn't like it, probably cos the schem was wrong

hello Hello Doug--
What schematic are you referring to??  The one over at Fuzz Central?
Brian.

doug deeper

here it is...
pretty easy to figure out whats what on this side...the 2 conected together are the collector resistors...the other 2 feedback...
i just can see color! :(

Hello Hello Doug--
I've built two versions and they both sound great [but different].  One is the schematic from Fuzz Central with different collector resistor values  [bringing the 470K down until it biased correctly...].  The other is a germanium version that is basically a FY-2 Companion Fuzz without the "tone shaping" circuit at the end.  [The silicon version is pretty much the same circuit with different resistor values.]
Brian.

doug deeper

what did you end up with for collector values?
this is the one w/ all 470k resistors right?
dosn't make sence!
ive built it before (looooong time ago)...but it didnt have the farty sound it should...

doug deeper

also fuzzcentral is down right now....could you send me the scheme?

EDIT...awe heck, what do I know, you're saying the 470k's are working?
I'm leaving this up just for reference so don't laugh..lol.
470k on the collector must be a mistype, I went for it long ago, I didn't work, I went round and around it 'debugging'. but didn't compare collector Resistor values like I would these days.
IIRC there was talk that 47k is more like it, IIWM I'd put a 47k with a 10k stop R on it and tune it, or temporarily pot it and replace with a fixed R.
I'd be looking at everything else [alll other R's values at least], except the topology anyway.
Convention creates following, following creates convention.

hmmm just built one w/ all 470ks...and...its pretty right on!
look at the pic...the resistors look to all be the same...
it could use a bit more splat...but its pretty grainy!
(i used bc108s and 500k/50k pots)

Hello Hello Doug--
I'm not at home so I can't  send you any info...sorry!
Isn't  the same schematic floating around here somewhere??
Brian.

Harry

Well the four resistors in the photo are 460k or 470k depending on whether the second band is blue (460k) or purple (470k). Looks more blue to me. Don't know if this'll help or not.

doug deeper

yeah thats all i needed...
also i found the schematic so no worries!

brian wenz

Hello Hello Doug--
Where did you find the schematic?
Did you try changing  the values of the collector resistors to see  what it does to the sound??
I just remembered Gus' "RiteFuzz"  [I think the schematic for that is in Aron's  Schematics...]
Brian.

what transistors did you use?

Hello Hello--
    You still with us, Doug??
Brian.

RicF

I looked at Fuzz Central and couldn't find a Fuzzrite schematic, can someone link it? For us stupid/blind folks?

Harry

Hello Hello--
Hey....what would happen if the .002 caps were increased in value to .0047  [without changing anything else] ??    Would it throw the bias of the circuit off?
Anybody??
Brian.
