grace / big daddy problem

Hello, I built the big daddy pedal that's on run off groove's site, the input signal overloads the circuit when the 100k volume pot is maxxed, I'm useing a LM 386 n1 opamp, I swapped it out and tried another one but same problem, I have all parts socketed so I've tried swapping out all parts with new parts, I'm useing a 2n5457 and it is oriented the right way, does anyone know what the problem could be,
