Okay, here's my "relic" finish Matchbox:

It wasn't intentional - I finished spraying the box - metallic blue on white primer - on a sunny, dry, and freezing cold November day. After a couple of years, this is the result. My chum, for whom I built it, loves it...

And here's my "Tribble Fuzz":

Whoa.....that fuzzy one reminds me of an old flame of mine  :icon_lol:
Great work Ge,
I've been thinking about building a "relic" stomper for sometime but, I haven't been able to bring myself to doing it yet.  :icon_neutral:

Basicaudio, your wooden enclosures look fantastic!! Personally I would be afraid to take them out of my living room to avoid getting scratches on them....the are so beautiful...

I'd call it furry fuzz  ;)

Another etched box. Again w/o black paint, just photo etched and a clear coat.

;D

you're really too kind.
But, honestly, I have to admit that i'm really proud (considering it's my 3rd work!!!).
I also liked the not-so-perfectly-'clean' stripes...

Can I tell my friends "markm made me a compliment for my box artwork"?  ;)

Sure!
You can tell everyone you know but, I'll bet more than likely they'll say "who?"  :icon_lol:
I think ya did a good job with the paintwork, using different colors like that can be difficult and tedious.
Nice work indeed!

What does BSIAB stand for anyway?

very nice build, but how did you make the whole for the odd shaped boss dc jack? have a few lying around but don't know how to drill a hole that shape.

zj

MikeH

You have to drill a circular hole for the top part, then file down the bottom square with a small file.

Photo-etched ?

You spray the box surface with photo-resist ?

Exactly. After sanding and acteone cleaning the box is coated with photo-resist . Then the procedere is like with pcbs: exposure, developing with 1% NaOH and then etching with FeCl3. Did not yet compare it to PnP......
I suppose with optimised protocols Pnp and photo-resist should be equal (e.g. resolution-wise).

markusw, that String Ringer is awesome... What size/type of box is that?
