The "Candy Box looks pretty neat. Nice job.
The colors and graphics really work well together.

That is stunning in it's beauty and simplicity John. I am always excited to see your work. I would love to see some pictures of the area around where you take your pictures. It looks so peaceful.
Cheers and keep them coming,
Chris

I recognized quite a few forumites pedals in that video.  Kudos to everyone who made the cut!

Soggybag and Mid-Fi's Doug Deeper had a number of their excellent works in that DVD clip.
Try a little tenderness.

my first etch, and it worked first time! sorry for the crappy cell phone pics, so now onto bigger and better boards! i used photoresist pcbs, and muratic acid and hydrogen peroxide for etchant. im pleased with how they came out
having leftover parts is just proof that you made it better!!!!

Finally!  My latest dual box - BSIAB2 (left) and LTD (right), with an effects order switch.  The little LED array shows which way the signal goes :)

I tried a fade from orange to fire red, it's a bit subtle in these pics, it almost looks like a sunburst finish or something.  It shows up a bit better on the painted enclosure before I boxed it.

Really nice woods and construction John! For the bottom do you use another piece of shielded wood or a metal plate and how do you attach it?

Take care

Heh, you caught me.
I didn't finish the bottom plate yet.
The bottom plate fits into the recess and screws into the
the recessed bit. I usually use a piece or 1/4 luan plywood
and then shield it with the same type foil tape.
I need to get some copper tape, the silver foil looks
like poop huh?

Sometimes I etch a piece of copper clad with a name
and use that as the bottom plate.
In fact I will probably do that this time so it will be
named and all. Thanks for the inspiration dave!  :D

I like the sounds of the etched copper clad, i think the colouring would work well with the woods you've used. I've bought copper foil from these guys a few times, last i bought was a few years ago, 6ft2 of 1mil copper foil  was only $6 plus shipping which even to the north country was really reasonable. http://stores.ebay.ca/Nimrod-Hall-Copper-Foil-Company  You just have to watch for the offcuts and end pieces to get the really good deals.

Full range germanium boost!

It's essentially a Rangemaster with much larger input and output caps (0.1uF).  I used an NPN transistor (NTE103A) so it can be run on a daisy chain with other negative ground effects.  I found this great big knob along with the NPN transistor while poking around a surplus electronics shop.  I knew they were destined to be together forever, so I found a mojo Allen-Bradley potentiometer (25k... much louder than the prescribed 10k) to marry them, and got to work.  The board is the Beavis Audio Research picoproto ( http://www.beavisaudio.com/products/protoboards/index.html ).

Yes, I have seen Audition. Years ago in Austin.  Would probably like it better now then I did then. That was the first Miike movie I saw. I would recommend Ichi, the Killer or the Dead or Alive trilogy. Great whacked out Japanese films...
