Laser-etched pedal #2

Matt,

I like the washer on the stomp.  Is that a replacement washer or something that came with the switch?

GP

It came with the switch.  The only local store I found that sells footswitches sells those X-wing ones with a nice black plastic washer.  They're cheap but I'm not concerned about wearing them out, I'll just replace it.  I don't stomp too hard.

diemilchmann

Insanekane, where did you get your (i assume) shielded wire?

Insanekane

Thank yous!
Etching surely turned out right. I just wish that it would sound as good as it looks.
Still searching for the proper diodes.

I got the wire from my local store
It is Teflon RG-178. Manufacturer is Alpha wire.
I live in Finland, so I hope you can find it closer.

Sirppi

Kane, tell me a little about that pedal  :) what is it, for example  ;D

It's Cornish G-2.
You can find it from freestomboxes.org.

Wow Kane, really smooth build. Love it :icon_biggrin:

Lately I've been using this sponge method on my pcb's and enclosures with nice results http://www.instructables.com/id/Sponge-Ferric-Chloride-Method-Etch-Circuit-Bo/  :) So here's my latest build.

Well my wiring ain't as neat as it could be. But here you go.

Green leds are the flashing ones and the red ones for bypass.  :icon_lol:

Can people stop making really amazing looking pedals. It's not fair! :(

I wish I had the patience and skill to make the likes of the Floydian & Maestro Phaser. Great work.

I never understood (and this might be a bit noobish) but how do builders attach MULTIPLE led lights to the circuit? Is there a pull down resistor on each one? Do you power in parallel or series?  ???  ???  ???

I like it (a lot), but it seems you could have moved the board up and left space for the battery.

There are two good reasons for that:
People in my country rarely use batteries for their pedals, they use PS, which I like because batteries aren't very nature friendly.
If I move the board up I would have to move JACK DC down to a side of the 3PDT and use a PCB JACK DC (I don't want to redesign the board!), and I've realized people here doesn't like pedals with DC connection on the side, they always want it to be on the upper side.

So, it should do it well for chilean guys! :icon_lol:

TamuT

Looks really good Fernando! But how do you manage to sand the top part (lettering) without removing any paint?  :icon_question:

I just wired the leds in series, each line with single Rled=1kΩ with no extra pops or ticking.

Nice one! But what is it circuitwise? A runoffgroove ROG derivate with controllable bright and bottom switch? I only know how turn the bright switch into a pot controllable option. ;)

@tamut...nice to see im not the only one who loves lots of lights .nice etch too.... :icon_wink:

@slade. great and classy as usual.... i presume you sand that on a big flat bed of paper?..... 8)

i put some of my favourite transistors into some sort of order:

i'm most proud of my old  raytheons (black plastic 722's, aluminium, blue, U.S. Army marked ones, and super duper "the shit" ones...) and old mullards which aren't really around anymore... there's lots of later produced stuff

Absolutely. breathtaking stuff all round. Love it. Also love the anti-battery stance. I am really resistant to putting them in my builds. I only do so when customers insist on it.

Guess that customer asked for it :)

I have to ask this Mike, I don't have a great memory, but even I can remember seeing more than one Muff you've built, have you any idea how many you've built? Doesn't it get kinda boring cranking out the same design (circuit) again and again? Especially on perf  :icon_eek:

Also love your tidy but not *nal wiring, looks like you've decided on effective production rather than perfection, knowing how many you crank out I guess that's a necessity.
