A complete pedal construction video with almost all steps from beginning to end.
Due to youTube limitations I had to condense it down to 10 mins....

please share it around!

we should have a page 1000 competition....it wont be long now... ;)

+1 great idea

That could make me finish my long standing build. Just so I can enter, let's make it a finish off that old build that never gets done competition.

I'll start on the prize by promising $10 (a thousand cents :) ) towards a store credit prize (on this site, pending Aron's approval of that idea). I also promise not to be responsible for the organisation of the competition.

Valvecaster running on 48v with switchable tremolo.
No stomp switch as it is the last in the chain and pretty much stays on.

3 gain modes, clean, dirty and treble boost.

And the guts.
Havn't decided whether to mount the regulator inside the box yet

Looks awesome!  ;D Could you share the schematic for the voltage booster?

Ha! You spotted the knob that goes up to 11.

The schematic and some layouts are posted in the voltage multipliers thread.
I'll pm you the links when I get back home in the evening, unless anyone else manages to tag them on here in the meantime.

I thank you for  the compliment.

I was just about to mention that awesome knob :) What is it for?

So I have been very inspired by all that I have seen here, also I addicted to checking this post for changes.  I have a little bit of my own work that I would like to share with you guys, though I know it doesn't even come close to scratching the surface of the craftmanship that you all display.  Here is my newest amp, rehoused.

Rossp, I love the NES rehouse - nice.

frequencycentral

Dual compressor, Flatline and Dynacomp on perf. I expected to have to debug the Dyna cos it's a complex circuit on perf, but no, worked first time. It was the tiny Flatline circuit that I had to debug. Some nice vintage Ge diode and metal can CA3080 mojo for y'all too.

Hey Rick

Nice build (standard response to your stuff, nice doesnt even start of course)...

Just one point - great to see someone else doing the vero board pot mounts. I like that method a lot too.
The Flatline  - is that employing the vactrol? I used a yellow LED and a LDR - 8k-24k at 10 lux.   1M dark resistance.
How smooth is the compression on your build? I fear vactrols may be better. Mine works great, just the decay is sometimes a bit "wavery" for want of a better word.

Thanks!

frequencycentral

Thanks Lace! I've built a few Flatlines, but I've only ever used VTL5C3. Seems pretty smooth to me, though slightly less so A/B'd with the Dyna.

Yeah, board mount pots are excellent, nice way to mount the LEDs in this build too.

Good info on the VTL5C3. Problem is they are £5 each, compared to 60p for a LED/LDR.
For phasers or trems I think LED/LDR work fine- ive made 3 x Easy Vibes, all great, and a lune, also great.
I think maybe a comp is more sensitive as its envlope controlled (?)

WRT board mount pots and LEDS, I really like it, I did both of that on a recent Lune Build, not as clean as yours but I am learning:

Another Madbean build. Got a couple of his PCBs. Gonna finish up the Porkbarrel next.
In the meanwhile, his Zvex stuff is so cheap to do its rude not to.
Here is the Macheen / Machine. I added the trimmer as a gain control on the outside for easy tweaking.
Deliberately sanded the paint and scuffed it to go with the industrial vibe...

Sounds disgusting in a good way
