who is this "Ace" who have black washers??

It's a hardware store... don't start being a d*ck, please. http://www.acehardware.com/home/index.jsp (I say that because common sense says that I probably don't buy black plastic washers from some guy named Ace)  :icon_evil:

Dude, chill--what makes you think a New Zealander knows about Ace Hardware?

At first glance, it looks like snarblinge thinks that "Ace" might be a handle for one of the forum members here or elsewhere.

I agree that a bit more thought was needed before replying to this.

We all have bad days though  ;D

QuoteI see everybody hatin' white washers. Why ?

Make them from perspex, larger, 4mm thick, and sand them. Drill a led-sized hole under, stick a flat-sanded led in it.

=> you get a nice on/off indicator around your footswitch, tc-electronics voicelab-like
I like it! I'm gonna have to try that on my madbean boneyard :)

And don`t forget to put a lock washer on top of it!  :icon_lol:

Good call. Keep your eye out for it  ;)

wow, nice to log in and see I created a moment of excitement, I was being a little cheeky with "who" but in a normal way for me, I also say things live in places (i.e" where does your soldering iron live") doesn't translate well on an international forum. but then neither does assuming everyone in the world knows about some hardware store, it aint mcdonalds or amazon. or smallbear. I just wanted a good supply of black washers, I'm using strange thin badly coated ones when I need black at the moment.

no harm done.

Love that FKR!!

My apologies for my last comment. I think Burst Buttons and basic electronics concerning compressors have made me a little sharp on the tongue. I wasn't even in a bad mood, so again... many apologies.

Phase 45!

Amazing as always Brian!

I know you have already mentioned it in the past but, would you mind giving some details about how you label enclosures like this? It looks like a PCB etch, and if it is, I would like to give it a try  ;)

Thank you very much!

The plates are designed in Photoshop, then transferred and etched like any plain PCB. They are attached with Super Glue. Only thing to remember is that you need to actually reverse the transfer image before ironing so the text comes out face forward. For this one, I actually sealed it with clear gloss (one coat). Usually I don't do that since over time the copper will oxidize and patina a bit--if you like that look. Sealing it will keep it bright and clean.

Very nice Rob  :o

Couldn't help but notice... were you originally planning on putting the In/Out jacks towards the middle of the enclosure? Or was that done to keep the In/Out labeling away from the burning flames?
