Not a bad list, but it misses the most important safety rule.  Before you do ANY task, figure out what can go wrong, and then make sure you can't be hurt when it DOES go wrong.  For example, if you are using a self feeding power tool (a router table, or shaper, etc.), put your hands somewhere that when it starts to self feed, your hands get pushed AWAY from the cutter.  If you are using a box cutter with a straight edge, hold it so that WHEN the blade slips, it goes right pass your body (i.e., don't stand in line with the cut!).  But your best safety equipment is your brain.  Use it, and think things through before you do them, and do so EVERY TIME!

Gabriel

Absolutely!  Pre-job hazard analysis.  Power tools are equal opportunity cutters.  They'll quite happily cut through flesh and bone.

Very nice!

Also nice! Tip: if you pinch the two sides of the seam while the glue sets and at the same time push a finger into the corner
(or use a small piece of wood etc) you can bend the fabric and round up the corner point. I glue only one side at a time and then
one corner at a time to make the seams.
It takes 3 hands but it makes it look nice. Good work!

Hello together,

@deadastronaut:
You are speaking of this small white point on the right upper corner on the ceramics?  ;D

@John Lyons:
I know what you are talking from (thank you for the tip)
but the result is ok, you don't see it as much as on the picture in real-life  ;)
I'll do this if I will build a pedal with tweed again...

This circuit's almost as much fun as the Echo Base. Tweaked John Lyons version of the PCB, added a IRFD9024 for polarity protection (geofex), lay all axial components down flat which required some rerouting to accomodate  and added pads for the rate LED and it's resistor.. Board now measures 2.5 × 2.2" so not sure whether it will still fit into a 1590B.

Instead of decals used stencils and 'wet toner transfers' for the legending and am pretty much sold on the viabilty of this method.

Finish is Target 7000 Gloss waterbased spraying lacquer that, depending on how you apply,  can produce a great matt finish. Now just have to see how it stands up over time and it's relationship with the paints used under it.

Thanks guys, the Tri-Vibe is a great circuit.

^ ... i see you got used to your air brush then... ;) ...

Well Rob... not really, i painted the Tri-Vibe in April of 2011 but then thin coats of transparent colours on white is as simple as it gets.

I never travel in a straight line. Zig this way, zag that way, up and down and all around, sometimes the roller coaster goes right off the tracks...

The PCB software says the i started Tri-Vibe PCB layout in May 2010. The PCB is etched with the date April 30,2011, painted the pcb in December 2011, finally finished wiring it into the enclosure last week, that's about par for a build. The rate LED could be brighter, back in i must go.

... now back to my 666 entry.
Take care

just a thought....

if all you guys are able to get such perfect toner transfers using photo paper to do acid etches, why don't you just directly transfer a colour toner image onto a pedal and put heaps of clear on the top? has that been done, did i miss it?

i never got very good results with toner you see... so not for me. could be my lack of ironing skills! :D

that Neverb is a cool looking pedal. kinda freaks me out a little bit...
