Those are BEAUTIFUL builds... impressive stuff, pickdropper!! :o

Congrats and keep 'em coming!

Jdansti

@pickdropper,

Thanks for sharing. This is great stuff that you've been hiding from us!  :) You'll have to get in on the next contest.

Thanks guys.  I've posted these before on BYOC and Madbean's place, but didn't really post anything here until Jon (Midwayfair) posted my Moon Angel build in the 1590a thread.

He told me about the Turkey Day contest, but I was ruled out because I prefer getting PCBs fabbed instead of etching them myself.  Props to those that do it, I just don't at this point.

Beautiful as always, John.

Certainly.... posting after pickdropper and John (and the other)..... though I'm quite happy how this came out....

I've called Diabolik Fuzz. Diabolik is a comic strip here in Italy, so most probably unknown abroad, he's a ruthless master thief, here's a  link to wiki about him http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diabolik

I just cut out images from the strips and glued on the enclosure, then some clear coating with a product for wood, that gives the yellow-ish tone, and then some acrilic clear coating.

TBH my wife did the enclosure work!!!! she loves decupage!!!

The circuit is the Colorsound one kob fuzz plus a BigMuff tone control as posted by Rick (Frequencycentral) some time ago, thx for the idea Rick!!!

Ice-9

This is one I'm building for a local guitarist, It's a thank you for testing out one of my other pedals and giving me feedback on what could make it better and stuff. Its also an excuse to mess around with some cheaply home made screen printing gear I made.

The pedal is an AMZ mini booster but i'm waiting for the ink to dry before putting the guts in.

And you think you can get away with that. Link to your thread about it please ;)

WOW, Slade. Your works is always amazing. :)

I like how your etch marks out the pot and switch locations.

Finished clearcoating some things last night ...

Moss Press, Ray Ring's (Circuitsalad.com) MOSFET compressor.

This is a brilliant design, and the only compressor I'm aware of that uses a MOSFET as its variable resistance element. I'll get a demo of this and my super-simplified version of his opto-FET squeezer recorded soon. This has a ton of compression, but the decay is flawless, and the attack is very natural sounding. It does have some perceived treble loss (with no way to really bring it back in), so it's one step behind something like the Engineer's Thumb in tonal transparency, but the overall performance is right up there with the best comps I've built.

Another bite-sized Engineer's Thumb:

A couple weeks back a friend of mine challenged me to get this in a 1590A. I built two boards after thinking I'd messed one up (I didn't realize that I *had* to use a TL0x2 op amp to get it to work), and had this pretty emerald green box to put it in, so I just had to, you see .... The art is the same as the first one I made (http://jonpattonmusic.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/engineers-thumb.jpg), a hydrolic press with newly minted coins, a reference to the Sherlock Holmes story of course.
