Thanks! I've found powder coating to be pretty easy and inexpensive. I was tired of buying a $4 can of spray paint to use once and then have it clog when I tried to use it again 9 months later. That money adds up fast, the spray fumes are bad, the sprayed clear coat takes forever to dry completely... etc. The first time I tried powder coat and got a beautiful and indestructible finish in 30 minutes of work, I was hooked. I followed PerroGrande's tutorial the first time and bought an Eastwood gun like he has. It takes some research and getting used to like everything, but after doing a couple boxes you'll be getting pretty good results.

(and I should qualify that---it's only inexpensive if 1. you already own an air compressor, and 2. you're going to coat multiple boxes with the same powder over time; you pretty much have to buy the powder in half pound quantities to make it worth it, but a $9.99-16.99 half pound will coat a ton of boxes. Maybe 10-12?)

Thanks for the link and info, I really like the end results but I think as I'm only knocking out 1-2 boxes every 2 months or so I think the investment in gear is more than I can justify at the mo! Good to know the process though as it looks relatively straight forward so if I ever think about getting into it I know where to start!

Lest anyone think this forum is just for pros like deadastronaut..

This one didn't go as planned... turns out the cheaper box I bought isn't alu, and didn't actually etch, so I left the laser ink transfer on and 'reliced' it a bit, seeing as was already kind of messy. The blue translucent coat made it look ok..
Also, I twisted the box while drilling the 13mm hole for the DC Jack. Also, the isolation of the speaker out is rather improvised, as I hadn't thought of it before hand!
The plan is to lose the bottom and attach it to a shell with some 4" bookshelf speakers..






But it sounds decent through my Jensen 10" cab.
