Hi all.  I wanted to share my Cardinal Tremolo + Rub-a-Dub Reverb box (both built on the 1776 boards).  The finish and lead work isn't anything to brag about--several "firsts" and "lessons learned" on this project, to be sure--but I'm pretty happy with the results and the pedal sounds great!  Thanks again to Jon for helping me sort out the Cardinal.  :)  --Matt

Deafbutpicky, what do you use for your round enclosures?

- Strategy

They're tuna cans, cheap and sturdy enough, and the diameter is the same as
of peanut cans, where I take the lids from.

Space Muff? I had some glitter.  :-*

Great finish! How was it done? What size box is it?

Hi, after a bad etching I decided the pedal would look better with a normal finish.

And another etching, this a little better, but still not as I expected, need a little more practice ;D

Cheers
Thomas

I should have waited and added a sound clip. Really sounds good. Ram's Head always sounded great for my amp.

Mmm, nebulous. :)

Did you just dilute some paint, or did you use a decal?

I'm sorry sir, we only have the regular ohms.

I just made it the same way I make swirl finishes. It just got out of control with too many colors so I blackened most of it out and added some glitter. Spacey.

And yes I am in fact The Batman. Here was my inspiration, I filmed at my home a couple years ago. I don't have a cave though. I have a bat attic.

As someone else recently said- something like when you make a mistake, emphasized it. Great save!

Sometimes the simplest thing is the the most useful one! A L-Pad attenuator (15W):

It changes the output response of the amp after the 12 o'clock position, but  works nicely.

^Nice job!  What circuit are you using?

A couple customer builds.

Cardinal with all four pots external and one of the tiny 2P4T switches (the one's Dave Rolo posted about in HIS harmonic tremolo ... it's like a circle around here) to do all four modes -- those switches are the same size as a potentiometer, so it was pretty easy to fit. I just bent the pins down. Works great here because you only really need one side of the switch, so if you wanted to get really fancy and change something else, the other pole could probably have been used.

Other things: This has my current biasing preference (6V on all FETs, rather than the attenuated Q1) and 2N5457s in all three transistors, and the customer uses British style amps, so I just removed the bypass cap on Q2 to give a flatter response. Using real FETs makes a big difference in the gain structure ... still kicking myself over those Tayda FETs I used when designing the circuit!

And another Blue Warbler version 2 -- this has my final preference for the depth pot from the build document, and the super slow speed pot (100K), which sounds SUPER smooth at the lowest setting. Maybe someday I'll get to build myself one. I don't have any in the house anymore, not even my version ones. :P

Thought I'd get a better photo before I sent these off!

I can't think of anything funny just yet.

I remember when you wouldn't even use two colours wire, and now you're even using cloth covered? where'd you get that? (is it cloth covered?)
