Thanks John.  I have some more but I'll hold off posting till I finish my next boxing adventure.  Those two pedals were #3 and #4 for me.  I've learned a few tricks since then.

I have been calling it the evidence buffer but I'm stealing your idea  :icon_biggrin:

I did this enclosures with a UV roland printer, I printed directly on the aluminum. The finish is very professional (like EHX's pedals) and fast  :icon_razz:

^^ I sure wish I could see them...  :-\

EDIT: Not sure what was going on when I tried to see them earlier, they're here now. Look amazing by the way :)

That's cool how much is a uv Roland printer..?

WhiskeyMadeMeDoIt

Don't know which model he used, but I just checked and it's a very reasonable $60000+. I might get two for the house ;)

If we all do a group buy in we might get a bulk discount? I'd love one!

So if someone wants to organise that, that'd be great. I'll sort you out next pay day. I'm good for it...

Don't know the Roland model number but I know a couple of pedalmakers who bought uv ink printers and the price is around $35k...  BUT, you can lease the machine for a few hundred per month.

If you want printed graphics, and can order 10 boxes, I think that Mammoth will print them for you, so that's a less expensive way to get top notch graphics.

Best regards, Jack

WhiskeyMadeMeDoIt

That may have been for the newest model then.  I did see it was available for a 60 month lease at around a little over a thousand a month. Thanks for the tip on mammoth I will keep that in mind.

You mean that you might be able to trade the house for two of them? I did the math and it checks out.

I've done a few this way and like the result. More and more sign shops are investing in them so maybe that's a route to try it out?

I do them myself. Been lucky enough to have an A3 UV printer in my office for the last year or so which I greatly under utilised. That one was sold on and a new one ordered which can handle a full 8x4ft sheet and a maximum thickness of 60mm. Only trouble is, it's been installed in our Manchester office and I'm in Huntingdon. I only get up there once a fortnight or so have to plan well ahead.

I'm colour calibrating it next week and at the same time check out ink adhesion on polished boxes as well as sort out a registration system. This is a CMYK + White printer and also includes a varnish. Possibilities are endless.
