Here is my stereo microamp with default splitter function. Maybe case is not that beautiful, but it used to be cheap and made from recycling materials.

I'm a n00b. I was inspired by everyone here so I decided to give it a shot with the Hog's Foot. Here's a few pix of the progression.


Altoids -> test box -> shielding -> front face with graphics -> guts

After the Altoids box I modeled one up in OpenSCAD a little bigger, and added some engraved labels to the sides and inside. This one is in preparation for the next build:





The flash and high-gloss clearcoat bring out the extruded plastic grain in these pictures. Up close and personal, the text is more legible. Future modifications to the process include sanding or other smoothing technique.

It runs off a 12VDC adapter, and everything inside is at 12V.

The schematic and sound samples will be up soonish.

Two new little ditties

@deadastronaut - Yes. I'm working on the foot now. I'm going to try press-fit with a cut-out for a coin to pry it open, but there should be no need to open it, but for curiosity or transistor testing. I tested the second one today and it has much more punch than the first. Not sure why. I'm mid-way through wiring up the third. When I have time, I'll test the transistors to see if there's an obvious difference. One for me, one for my brother, and one for my niece.

The plastic box is sturdy but a bit rough. ABS. Comes in lots of colors. The ability to position the components and adjust the size will come in handy. I've got a Little Angel soldered up and ready for a home.

I have 4 Hogs nearly complete. I'll keep the Altoids one as a keepsake. I'll keep one of the plastic ones. The other two are birthday presents.
