Or are there inkjet waterslide decals too?
There are.  You need to mist them a few times with clear coat before soaking them though so the ink doesn't run. (Disclaimer: no personal experience.)

When people talk about clear coat, do they mean the regular 'clear spray paint' you get for cars etc? Never too sure if it's an actual product or something generic.

Yeah, generic term.  I used acrylic car stuff from Halfords in the UK (automotive store).

My first "serious" 1590a pedal. 5150 jfet preamp (again...). A bit tricky to assemble due to limited space above the pcb. 1/4" jacks barely fit in the enclosure (in order to close a box I had to sand down a bit lid's rim just above the jacks). There's onboard millenium2 bypass.

Very cool. I like the pin headers to deal with the differing height of the 3PDT switch. Nice touch. The whole thing is very tight build.

I may always be less than serious if this is where the serious bar is set, but I am seriously impressed by this!  Very nice!  :icon_cool:

My newest...

A bit disappointed as there is a big blem in the etch-- but, not worth re-doing... It just is what it is.   :icon_frown:

Anyway, I got two Guyatone Fuzz Monster PCBs from Dino just before I got sick (4 years ago).  I have finally gotten around to building them out.  The builds were really fun, and the sound from these tube driven fuzzes is awesome!  12VAC supply (1.5A)

Thanks to Nathan for cutting the slots for me!  I really like that look!

The 2nd one is not assembled yet as a couple of the 9mm pots have been on backorder for some time.  I need them to come in so I can finish it off....

Thanks, in the UK too, so, yeah, Halfords FTW! :)

This turned out amazing! Really sweet looking build, glad I could help, even if I botched the second one :icon_redface:

Hey, I recognise the little funny-looking guy!  And I don't mean Mr. Halford...   :icon_wink:

I'm looking for a schematic for Guyatone Fuzz Monster. Found a thread here at forum, but images are dead :(

But digi2t wrote that he had a pcb for sale. Have you looked at the build documents at his website?

Got a schematic from another board member. Currently not interested to build this, just to study it :)

DBA Harmonic Transformer and a Vox Repeat Percussion.
Both done with grey hammertone paint and toner transfer onto faceplate.
I did try and etch one of these faceplates with caustic soda but it wouldn't work. The aluminium plates were sold for sublimation printing so i'm guessing there's some kind of coating that resists the etching process.
Once i find myself a better free printer on Freecycle and source some suitable aluminium plates i'll try the etch again.

Next time i do a hammer finish i think i'll try using a self etching primer first, my finishes are not very chip resistant currently.
I think i need to find a compatible clear coat too. You can see that when i clear coated the faceplate on the Harmonic Transformer it just re-liquified the hammer paint around the footswitch, very annoying.
We live and learn.

P.S - If somebody could remind me how to post photos so they are large rather than just thumbnail size i promise i'll write it down this time and will never ask again  :icon_lol:

You did it right.  Thumbnail in forum view, easier reading and navigation.  Click on the thumbnail and get the full size image in a new tab.

Finished another shovel. Each one seems to be a bit better than the last despite every one requiring its own design because the shovels at so different. Had to fit the bridge backwards on this one

Does it sound better too? So that one could say

"I'm digging that tone!"  ;D

It's got tone in spades!
(Have we done this before?)

^ probably. Currently working on a harp made out of a pick axe. I'll get it done but I'm never doing another.
