Here's one that I was working on for ages (mostly because I need my head examined to be using these extruded enclosures: drilling them by hand is a b!tch...).  Anyway, I did this one for one of my tame guitarists - ROG Omega boost into Tube Screamer overdrive into Dimension-P chorus into Cave Dweller delay.

Need to take a look at the delay, since the output is low compared to the rest of the fx.  And then I need to work out what to do with the thing, since that band went a bit defunct in the time I've taken to build the bloody pedal!   :icon_rolleyes:

And two others off the production line this weekend.  Multiplex echo machine from 1776, and Stage Fright phaser from madbean.

You'll notice where I kcufed up the rotary switch on the Multiplex board: I soldered it to the wrong side!  :icon_eek:  Ever tried to desolder a switch with 16 pins?  No, me neither.  Had to completely destroy it and wait for a replacement...  :icon_rolleyes:

No such ckups with the phaser, which is totally gorgeous.   :icon_cool:

Hadn't trimmed the input buffer bias...   :icon_redface:

Handmade. 1mm aluminum sheet (10 cm x 21 cm) folded in a U-shape. Two U-brackets fixed inside to the head and bottom of the enclosure so I have 2  lids on each side on which I can secure the wooden side-pannels. Doing so, I get enclosures of 10cm by 11cm and 3.7cm height.

Thanks. They look very precise, even more impressed now. :)

First smd build.  Hand soldered smd - that was fun ;)

The funny thing about that is that because you've got board-mounted pots at the top, and board-mounted footswitches at the bottom, the poor little SMD parts are all spaced out across what seems like a vast plain of PCB! It'd have fitted on a board 1/2 the size or less, but then you'd have had to wire the other stuff up...

The only solution is to put more circuit in the next one!

love seeing SMT in the pic thread, bravo

Is that a solder bridge on IC3?  Maybe intentional, maybe an optical illusion.  Not being critical, if I tried SMT it would be nothing but a mess of solder bridges!

It is, but if you look closely you can see that those pijs are supposed to be electrically connected anyway, so thisbis just an extra connection that isn't hurting anything. 8)

Cheers for the comments.

Yep, that is a solder bridge - lol :)  Both gnd points.

First smd pcb, so spaced everything out to make it a bit easier for me :)

Next smd pcb has a lot more packed into a smaller space.

deadastronaut

looks cool.. 8).....never tried smd.....one day.

i presume when designing you still use through hole with a breadboard though.

then after testing, trying, build with smd...

an smd breadboard would be interesting... ;D

Yeah, all the bread boarding is done with standard through hole components.

Then you have to check if the same components are actually available as smd components, if not - searching for equivalent smd variety.

The latest slice of weird pie I cooked up - the Robodog. I've been having fun with this :) weird glitchy octave down that ISN'T a fuzz. More like a weird pseudo-ringmod which gargles and barks like a...robotic dog...

Very cool, i'm guessing that distressing was some kind of acid?

BluffChill

I am flattered - it's just an inkjet decal!! Created it with layering in GIMP using a hi-res picture of a rusty boat as an overlay.

A collaboration between a mate and I. He asked me to make a pedal for his brother, and while I was ordering parts I tagged a couple of other mates on as well.
Mate did the printing, and I'll be using his services again.
