what are those two black "things" on the board, look like M&M :)

transistors :)

Yeah, them "black things". I`ve got a little bag of those. Unmarked, bar one which has me4003 writ upon it. Don`t suppose that`s what they are?

nope...

Here is my antiquity fuzz:

I got rid of the gain pot setting it to max gain and then using the guitar volume knob to roll back the gain as needed.

As soon as I get the technique "perfected" I'll post a "How To do EZ Swirls" thread...

Here's the one from earlier, after the clear coat...I'm making it for a friend...old school fuzz, no LED or DC Jack !  :)

Here it is all wired up !

And a sound sample...he wanted the big loose bottom of a germanium, with the "spit" of a silicon.... (don't mind my sloppy playing...I couldnt find a pick !)

So the knobby is for bias? That is one rude fuzz!

any chance of a layout for this one?  ;D

i would be very interested in a layout as well!!
very much like the sound of this one!

Well, my second etch didn't come out as clean as my first but it still looks cool enough.  I decided to etch the graphic of the MXR Zakk Wylde pedal.  Think I'll ink in the bullseye as well.  Kind of has a heavy grunge look to it.

Where did you get the design for the etch?

I drew it out in Photoshop.  If you need the artwork, let me know and I can send you the jpeg for etching.
Yes please, that would be great.

Sent you a pm for your email address.

Its a volume knob.

I purposefully biased this fuzz just a bit low so it has a bit more "spit and snarl".  :)

thanks...

its basically a FF circuit with some tweaks and small alterations...as well as different transistors.

i noticed that it has a lot more resistors than a typical ff, any info on that?

I'll draw up a schematic in a couple days.  :)

Nifty way to wire the supply! If i understand correctly the GND of the board is connected to the enclosure though the output jack. And the GND from the battery is connected to the enclosure when the input is plugged in.

How else would you do it?  Wiring the battery ground to the input jack shield is how you turn the battery off when the pedal is unplugged.  I've been wiring my pedals just like that since I started years ago...

Actually, I just realized I do it pretty much the same thing.. Only I wire the GND connection to the board at the input jack. So only one wire goes to the output jack.

i'm thinking you're just showing off now. crap that looks good both in and out.

Just finished building a 2x12 and my Orange Squeezer/Green Ringer. (Except for the corners on the cabinet and the paint on the pedal... i will put blue stripes on the pedal! And my MK-II/Fuzz Face only needs to be boxed up.

Very nice. I love flabby fuzz! I'm really curious about your swirly tech now! I like the buss wiring...do you find it to be pretty stable? I have some thin buss, but have stayed away from using it for routing.
