Left: RoG Flipster
Right: Modded MXR Distortion+

I'm going to gut the Flipster and redo it because the Jfets don't seem to want to bias correctly.  The Distortion+ is the second version of a tube mod.

Here's a couple of mine.

I'm in no way related to the translation of those descriptions of those products...

Compliments to Markm. Me love that delay.

Care to tell us about the technique?  Looks like etched. Are the sides etched too?

Thank you kind sir.
Yes, those are etched using PNP Blue.
I have been etching just about all of my projects lately and was considering putting together a small photo essay on the process.
Right now I'm working on the Red Llama enclosure.
I'll post more pics if anyone is interested.
Thanks again,

my first etching attempt failed miserably, after sanding the top as flat as possible, cleaning then applying...only about 30% of my desired mask stayed on the box..  :icon_mad: so a photoessay would be GREAT. Then I'll have something fun to post in here too :)

Mark, your analog delay looks legit, better than most pro boxes.  Great overall design, and big knobs too. :icon_razz:

Here's a couple more pictures of a project I did last month.  It does crude synthesis square wave stuff, combining 3 Tim Escobedo effects and the MXR bluebox.  Explained somewhat more in this thread:
http://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/index.php?topic=43469.0

The masking tape is labels for the controls, for helping during debugging and mod time.  I really liked using this kind of prototyping board, I don't know what its called, but the strips are layed out like a breadboard, so you can transfer your circuit right over.

I made all the stuff fit and the graffix on the PC, this is the modelling program I used to do the layout

One more vote for the photoessay. I don't think one has ever been done about box etching. Has it? Anyway that's an area of stompbox building that yet needs to be properly documented, I believe.

Actually, someone has:

I think this is a forum member (possibly soggybag?). There's also some other really cool stuff on the site, including a general fx board template with on-board switch and jacks, and the coolest Uglyface enclosure ever. And there are more etching examples with comments on methods in articles other than the one linked above.

Very cool. I love the look of these etched boxes.

A few of mine.
I just started with the finnis-thing, so they don't look good at all. Anyway, I'm learning as i go.  ;)
