Andi

That's very kind of you. :)

There are a few bits I didn't get quite right, but most of them are hidden. Still needs wiring up, but I can do that tomorrow.

Hi,

my second reverse etch work of an Escobedo design, the PWM. Thanks again to Solidhex for his kind support and layout work. Made some small mods to it and did make the lfo swichable as you can see. I realy dig that litlle gadget.:)

Modified Ross Compressor.

All your work is just beautiful!! but I guess you can tell this is my favourite  ;D ;D and really fits with the idea of compressing...

I've seen a few boxes where the LED is mounted without a bezel...just a hint of the lens peeping through the surface. How is this done? How is the LED secured inside? I really like this look.

I just drill the right size hole for the LED and push it through, no glue need as it's a really close fit. You can use some gel glue if it makes you feel better!  ;)

This one's got four LEDs done that way:

i do the flush mount LED thing, my trick is to use a unibit to drill a hole just too small for the led, and push the unibit in until i've drilled the next size almost thru the enclosure. this creates kind of a pocket for the led. then i touch some glue on the back to secure it or i have it wired in such a way that the LED is held in by it's own wiring.

Ah, I see...thanks. I'm guessing a little RTV/Silicone would do the same.

Again, thanks for the tip.

im not the only dexter fan :)
Seems like great minds think alike. :D I have actually never seen Dexter, but I've heard it's great. I'm actually gonna sell pedals painted this way. It's gonna be a signature fuzz for a good friend of mine who plays bass-guitar.

You're missing out...it definitely is.  Nice looking pedal, btw.

Not a pedal, but I am quite pleased with it. Not too bad for a first attempt...

Looks great!

what's your grill material?  I once used some tan vinyl window screen  ;D

Andi

Just grille cloth from Allparts - same place I got the tolex, handle, corners, piping and feet.

Thank you, sir.:) I'm not completely satisfied with the result as it was hard to apply the toner. It was a slippery task due to the few toner of the transfer-layout. So it got a little bit distorted and not that sharp edged as I wanted it to. But that's more obviously on the pic as in reality.
As the PWM sounds quite like a synth so my aim was to make it look like a 70s synth or an EHX pedal of that era. When I think about synthies, green is the colour that comes up first into my mind.:D Dunno why!:D:D:D

yeah looks like a space echo crossed with old ehx effects

Hehe^^

yeah, somthing like that or the EHX Poly Chorus.;)
Mine does sound a bit different than the examples which can be found on the net. This might be due to some minor mods I did as Solidhex suggested it. It sounds a bit smoother, less glitchy. The typ of th CD40106 does have an enormous impact on the whole sound of this gadget. Unfortunetly I'm not able to make some soundclips, because I've got no recording gear. But I can promise you it's worth a try!:)
