This looks very nice, Luke. I like multi-fx!

That reminds me: I never presented the "thing" I actually use. I finished it as my first build two years ago.

It consists of
Tuner Korg-DT-10 (non DIY and doubling as buffer) -> Snow White Auto Wah -> Noomerang Wah -> ISP Decimator  Loop Start -> Orange Squeezer  –>  ROG Professor Tweed -> Send/Return-Loop -> Blues Driver -> RG Keens LoFi Telephone -> ROG English Channel ->  ISP Decimator Loop End -> Tremulus Lune -> Rebote 2.5 -> ,,Das Lineal"  (a Musikding kit, this is the one that initially got me started with this nonsense) -> Ross Phaser -> Slow Gear SG-1 with Red Llama -> Output
There are some buttons that were meant to control the Boss RC-2 but I relocated them to the looper some time ago, so these are obsolete now.

The guts look quite, hmm, improvable (improvised?). I really like to think, that I'd be able to do it better after two years of soldering but I am not sure. Maybe a power and a ground bus would have been a good idea.

But it does work and I still like it.

so that's where the world supply of silver Al knobs went.

hey wyn - you need to post the link to the actual image if you are using the [img] .... [/img] tags, not the page that the images are on. that would need the [url]https://plus.google.com/u/0/102729661034733473192/posts/CTD1RKLgTaK?pid=6106890894765528434&oid=102729661034733473192[/url] junk instead, and we'd have to clikk it and fight with googoo to see them.

they look good enough to show, too.
I feel sick.

That's your actual first build  :icon_eek: Wow... I was pretty proud of my Orange Squeezer in an outlet box after I successfully debugged the layout I made up on the fly... What an Epic box. Is it noisy? That's a lot going on with multiple clocks and wiring (I'm assuming its not since it's what you use all the time  ;) ). I'm amazed, I don't think I could have even come up with an idea like that let alone execute it so well when I was starting out. Mad props.

lars-musik

Thank you. No, it is not especially noisy. Of course the Decimator helps. But I was really very surprised myself. The noisiest part in the whole setup was the Boss looper that was constantly whining until I bought a discrete PSU for it.

I started with the "Das Lineal"-Kit from Musikding that was succeeded by the Orange Squeezer (both are inside the monstrosity now). After these two I became delusional and you see the result. The whole ting took me about 8 month. And being a novice in DIY and soldering I learned very much in the past two years. And spend a lot of money. And produced less music.

Your first build??? :o what's next? Console for the battle star galactica?

Go big or go home, full size replica Death Star?

lars-musik

A battle star. I don't know? Maybe if I'd find the right nerdy forum that would help me debugging ("If I press "fire" the whole thing hums and then my brain explodes and not the planet. Any Idea why? Here are my plasma readings: ...)

But no. I went another way. Although a lack a proper comparison, the sequence in my builds was: big – mean - small (for comparison: maybe a potentate? No, not really. A love affair? Well, I wouldn't know). Anyway, some examples:

Mean - The Wooligan Pi (a Wooly Mammoth + Big Muff, crazy oscillating mean, especially for a Beatles/Smiths-Fan):

Small: The Small Brock (the distortion of the Box of Rock)

However, now I am back to normal.

The Prince of Tone (or shorter: Prof. Tone, I know, I just posted in two other threads but I am really proud)

This is an Acoustic 360 fuzz for Bass, based on the Jaco Pastorius Fuzz. The previous version I built was good but cut a lot of low end out, so I made this one with the blend control to balance it back out again.

Two recent builds. A very modified TS/FD2 kind of overdrive and a "proof of concept" design for a little tiny baby enclosure! Complete with extra flux  ;D

Thank you. It's just practice and luck. For this one all I used was PNP Blue and an iron. I guess the only trick is knowing when to stop ironing  :)
