Sorry guys, I didn't know that here there's a strong habit to post the guts!

I'm used to post at the Brazilian forum ~Handmades~ where there are specific sections for this kind of thing.

Anyway, I am not a company! Just like to take nice pictures of my toys

Yeah there can be a bit of a double standard here. I don't see people complaining about the dayzatronix stuff or basic audio or n audio stuff. I personally don't have problems with commercial builders showing off as long as it is manual labor work with lots of love put in. ( and it helps if they are regular contributors too of course 👍 )

Agreed. I'd love to see it regardless of who makes it, just as long as the main goal of posting is to show us something cool and not to try to push a product. A while ago someone posted a shot of an awesome pedal and I asked in the thread if they had PCBs available for sale. They replied via PM specifically because they didn't want to seem like they were trying to promote a product. And that's how it should be in my opinion. This thread is not a for sale thread or an advertisement thread, just a "hey look I made this cool thing" thread.

There's nothing to apologize about, i'm on your side, you've shown us some very cool work!

I couldn't understand why your motivation for sharing was being brought into question... again.

Please continue to show us what you're are doing, i'm sure there's many of us enjoying seeing your creations and enthusiasm for the hobby.

IMO, guts are for build threads, unless you want to show off how tidy you are.

it's annoying when people use the forum for their lame 15-minute boutique pedal company. it's also annoying when people have such a loose chip on their shoulder that anything tips it off, like a comparator or something. i'm not saying Gov't Lacky is a jerk, he's a valued member of the community who's helped a lot of builders out. I'm saying that probably all of us have been too easily p.o.'ed and we could probably all turn the heat on the pressure cooker down a little...

life sucks, it's up to us to make the best of it. cheers!

it's a sticky one, and i'm conscious of it. i build stuff full-time for fun and often forget to post in this thread for long durations. but normally if i do, it's to show off some new artwork or possibly a new/different technique of applying the artwork with the hardware available to me. i don't post links to my website. and i love it when people ask me 'how'.

lots of people like to put a 'branding' on their pedal, even if they only build ONE. it makes you and the pedal feel special

if you're posting here to try to generate sales, then i don't think your advertising scheme if thinking broadly enough... you're trying to sell to fish to fishermen.

oh, and i like to see the guts too if possible beside the top. that way i can look at the clever ways that people are matching physical hardware to circuit which is very interesting to me right now.

My rule of thumb for guts shots is to only show them when I've done a good job. Personally, I know my gut organizing, though slowly improving, is not a good example for anyone to follow and it's the roughest part of my pedal building. Until I have photos showing progrses or something someone can actually benefit/learn from (other than having a good laugh at my attempts, I guess that would benefit people), I'm just going to show what's worth showing! (the outside of the build!)

I would have to say to anyone who is saying not to post certain types of pictures here that the 'Pictures' thread is for pictures, any pictures, outside, guts shots, anything to do with effects.

Slapping your brand on the pictures that you re-post on this forum is a little different. Why the need to put your "brand" on the pictures? I only know of 2 reasons. One is so that no one else can reuse that picture without consent.

Just for clarification
I can't speak for everyone - by the way, I'm a newbie here - but I usually write "Ferri Handmades" in my building pictures to, if someone share them somewhere, who see them have an idea where it came from and where to find more, as well as a signature. This is no reason for such presumption, never had any problem about this
Reinforcing, I'm from Brazil, would be unwise for me to try to promote sales in a global forum. In the Darth Muff post, i've linked my FB page in case anyone wanted to see more pics or more buildings.

I really like your work Tethinhas. Sometimes the thing I love most about searching this thread, people's Facebooks etc. is not one the pedal but the joy and pride I see in people showing off their work and I know how happy they are to have accomplished the piece in hand.

A 'signature' as you put it just seals the deal, like on a painting - that you're so happy with it that you want to put your name to it and put it out in the world.

man... i remember this thread form the first few pages. we've all come a long way baby

Everyone else: You're all super cool. This will always be my favorite website on the internet. I literally spend more time here than every other website (facebook, imgur, etc.) combined.

I love this thread because all of the amazing builds give me new ideas, and even gut shots give me ideas (example: I never even thought to braid the three wires of a pot together to keep it more organized until I saw it on someone's gutshot).

Unfortunately no, but if there were I would definitely spend all of my time there after work hanging out with all you fabulous people. Part of the reason I don't have any friends or a social life is that everyone wants to talk about sports when I want to talk about circuits
