^ handsome looking work, bravo

where'd you get that LED bezel?! that's not a secret recipe, is it? ;)
The bezels complete with LED are available from Maplin in the UK so I would have thought there are 101 other suppliers

Very nice fuzz, the germanium clipping really adds a nice touch to the Big Muff circuit. However, the volume loss is really boring, I think I will change the transistor bias a bit to increase the output volume.
It is really smooth and full of mids for a Big Muff, I really like it.

I also made a Pharaoh clone, but with some mods. I used a Baxandall tone stack, did't like the one on the Pharaoh. To compensate the volume loss I used MPSA18 (or other hi Beta transistor) for T1 and on the emiter of the last transistor I replacet the resistor with a 10k trimpot (center lug to the ground with a 2u2 pol. capacitor), this way you can increase/decrease amplification.

Pickdropper's level is nearly impossible to reach for me, but thanks for the comparison!  :D
Each time I see his builds I just want to quit

Different take on Stalin, another Germanium boost (in a Mac Walker wedge). About all i could find out about Tkibuti was they had a statue of Stalin in the main square.

Nice looking collection Mac!

+1.... but also, given that it's a Germainium boost, shouldn't it be Hitler Merkel (don't mean to compar the 2 at all, just nobody wants a Hitler pedal... or not many anyway.... I hope)?

Technically the pedal should be called "East Germanium Boost"

(Ba boom Tish!)

Sorry, as a cold war kid I am allowed to make these sorts of jokes, ha ha

Anyway this pedal was not screen printed, it was done using one of those fancy UV printers.....

I agree, the technical aspects of the designs are great. it makes me think...

why hasn't there been one single Hitler themed, nazi-inspired pedal? if Stalin can kill 2-3 times the number of people in death camps that Hitler did, surely we can "get over it" and dive right in to fascist graphic design, right?  ... :(

QuoteAbout all i could find out about Tkibuti was they had a statue of Stalin
you know it's Tkibuli and not Tkibu-t-i, right? About the only thing that ever happened there is some Nazi POWs and Soviet political prisoners were forced to mine coal.

I'm not trying to guilt trip anyone, but when you're using imagery directly associated with a history involving death camps, military invasions, massive forced population relocations, slave labor, widespread torture, and secret police, maybe tread a bit more lightly? just a suggestion, i know everyone has their own axe to grind.

rant over - back to sausage, fuzz pedals and gut shots...

Gary thanks for your reply!

No idea how or when i morphed Tkibuli into TKibuti, did find one French site with it spelled with the 't' but that doesn't explain it.

Found this info on my computer, copied from some site out there, and printed onto the pedal along with the map of Georgia, latitude. longitude, altitude of Tkibuli.

THERE'S NOT MUCH to see in Tkibuli. They have one statue of Stalin, a polluted river, a closed coal mine and a lot of men sitting around doing mostly nothing.

Unemployment rate is nearly 95% some say. The inhabitants mainly survive by receiving money from relatives who have been lucky enough to get a job elsewhere.

The city is in a state of complete decay like several other industrial cities around in Georgia.

The industrial city Tkibuli is a victim of the collapse of the Soviet system, 95% is unemployed. The city is located in the Racha region.

The Stalin image is a movie poster for the film Red Monarch, based on critical writings of a Russian dissident and former KGB agent. I  posterized the image and hand coloured it to use on the pedal.
