A Pharaoh Fuzz with my owndesigned PCB:

I also made a moded Pharaoh, also called it "Anubis".  :)

For clipping, beside Ge diodes and transistor junctions, one of my favorite was with MosFet. More harsh, metallic sound.

Made a few pedal boxes out of black walnut.  They're overdrives - i think the topography gives away which overdrives...

Fantastic work with some beautiful wood!

Awesome!  Did you use any shielding inside the wood?

Unlikekurt

@thermionix, combination of conductive tape and paint.  tape mostly and then a few coats of paint in the recesses for the potentiometers and jacks.  quite quiet.

Nice.  Excellent woodwork.  Now build me a guitar!  (hehe)

Here's my 2nd pedal. I had grand designs for the finish, then I could not wait to box it and play it. So I cut it short. I am quite please so far. I'll add a picture that includes the sides too, I haven't got it with me at the moment.

Britannia, ROG.

Here's the "Salty Dog Vibrator" #2, headed for an old buddy in Oklahoma.

Looks nice all dolled up in a coqktail dress!

Would love to see some details on this. Do you have a thread you can direct us to, or a schematic?

It's setup as a testbed for different triodes with and without local feedback. I'll probably keep messing with it until I get something I like, and then expand it into 4x2, or 4x4. Here's a schematic, though I have a bunch of changes already planned out, and lots of testing ahead.

Mucho Mojo McWhipple!  Handwired Clyde in an old Crybaby box, blue sparkle paint job.

-Whipple inductor and 100K ICAR-taper pot
-NOS Telefunken BC109B transistors
-NOS Tropical fish, Ducati, and Marshall caps
-Switchcraft jacks and Carling switch
-Carbon comp resistors

Sounds incredible.  By far the best wah I've ever had.

(white lithium grease will be purchased/applied tomorrow)

I love layouts like this. Really good looking build. And frankly with the size of most wah enclosures it just makes sense to use a bit more room 8)

Thanks Nathan!  Yeah there's plenty of room in the X-Y sense, component height was a concern since I located the board in the old style position toward the heel.  The inductor had to go up top.
