Flatline Optical Compressor with a cheapo vactrol and random diodes.

Rixen

..already posted in another thread, but here's a TS808 clone. I wanted to trial epoxy 'Doming Resin' as a coating over the waterslide decal just in the front panel area...

Do cheap vactrols still exist? Where?
I cannot find them for less than 7 euros each...

skullservant

I found some on ebay, it was like $20 for a small box of them, about 5-10?

Some of you may recall my clone of the Prophecysound Infinitphase, inspired by Digi2t's veroboard clone, but lacking his willingness to do wiring :)

I was never very happy with that first one. This one, I like more. Compared to the first one, the new one is almost wee cute. Despite being a Hammond 1550E enclosure.

Way more patches than I like on the PCB, but it's in a state of working :D

@alanp - I was going to ask "what does it do?" but with that many knobs it may be easier to ask what it doesn't do :P Great looking build, way more work than I'm willing to put into anything I step on 8)

I've been going through all of my favorite circuits and reworking them for eyelet board.

As someone who isn't at the level of doing eyelet board yet, I am blown away by that!
Also, clever how you use the screws that hold the board in place to also secure the nameplate outside...
Is that paint Sparkle Granny Green from Pedal Parts Plus?
Did you envirotex that enclosure?
Again, looks killer.

All of my "scratch" pedals so far are on eyelet boards, though not as neat and clean as yours.  I don't have the stuff to make PCBs.

Thanks! I've been experimenting for years with different layouts and this is just my latest attempt to blend form and function. I used to spray paint and use water slide decals but they're just not durable enough to sell to customers.

The finish is Granny Smith sparkle from Mammoth. I love their paint jobs. No Envirotex, it's just that glossy.

I don't have the attention span to make PCBs. Fortunately I'm really into old-school fuzz so the eyelet boards (and strip boards) are perfect for me. To me there's a compelling beauty in a circuit with only a dozen components.

Here's my take on the Tone Bender MKII

diydave

A simple A-B box
Folded aluminium, covered in black sticky vinyl.
Graphics: laserprinted on paper, covered with clear sticky vinyl and glued on the box.

It has survived this summers giggin', so it seems all sturdy enough.

storyboardist

Wrapped this one up last night. It's a Valve Wizard Equinox II reverb. Sounds better than a couple Belton brick based reverbs I've built to boot. Had a friend who does calligraphy do the lettering and it came out really nicely.

Trikbox Tremblo

Enveloped Tremolo. The thread and development went on forever but she's finally done.

Ma throats as dry as an overcooked kipper.

Smoke me a Kipper. I'll be back for breakfast.

Ohm's Law - much like Coles Law, but with less cabbage...

Strategy

New build after months of no DIY: 4ms Phaseur Fleur. With added CV input.
Awesome phaser! As usual my gut shots are too sloppy to be entertaining...

Really fun idea with the DIP switches, I am currently reading your blog post, lots of insights there, it is really interesting!

It might be a stupid question, but where do you find cheap vactrols now ?
I am looking for VTL5C1, and they are always more than 7 euros each!
