Another 5150 (TrueVAL).

Where can I get one of those 5150 boards???  Looks great.

Superjudge with buffer and LPB1 boost

3 x Octagon FV-1 boards with switches to access the onboard patches.

Pedalpcb Brown Betty with buffer and switchable dual gain pots (100k, 1meg)

Elijah-Baley

Great!

I really like to try the Octagon FV-1 board. 8)

Hi Willypp. There is only one 5150 board :). It's a diy pcb. I might fabricate one more if you are interested. Or I can Elecrow some boards.

hylandren - cabsim samples as promised.
Sample1 .  #1 no cabsim, #2 speaker cab impulse response, #3 cabsim, #4 pod hd500x built in cab simulation.
It's all 4x12 Mesa V30 speaker cabinets - IR, cabsim and simulation from hd500x. IR and cabsim have quite similar frequency characteristics.
Sample2 #1 Mesa Trad 4x12 impulse response, #2 cabsim.
I used hd500x with all samples, with a speaker sim off (except #4). Amps - Engl sample1, JCM800 sample2.

First full build done start to finish with 9 fingers :P Finally finished the OmniBox v1.0 (there will definitely be a 2.0) tonight. It's an Alembic F-2B preamp with a 6N17B tube running off a nixie power supply for the plates, feeding into Lart's Simple Cabsim v2, and splitting from there into both an NE5532 headphone amp with a 1/4" stereo out one way and a DI transformer to a balanced XLR jack out the other way. And all in a 1590B, because 1590B's are my favorite ;D I didn't have any SMD linear regulators or schottkey diodes (I do now) so those are through hole, SMD trimpots are weird so the trimpot is through-hole, and the HV filter cap is through hole because if SMD caps that high capacitance at that high voltage even exist I'm sure I can't afford them :P And obviously the tube is through hole. Everything else is SMD. 8) I'm not completely thrilled with how the artwork turned out, but I had a talk with my CNC machine and it shouldn't happen again.

And because at least one of you is bound to ask for a gutshot, here's a spaghetti gutshot:

And here's a neat shot of the tube glowing through the vent in the dark:

I should probaly wait a bit longer for paint to cure, but I could not wait that long :) So here it is.
Trainwreck Express (circuit by Bajaman) in Gainta BS13 enclosure. The green finish it's a Hammerite hammered paint on bare alu. Does not look like a "proper" hammered finish but I like it anyway. Etched faceplate, with some patina on it.

How'd you mount the DI transformer?  (Sticky tape?)

That's a beautiful pedal. I really liked the faceplate.

How it sounds? I'm curious on this one. Is the layout available?

Yup, sticky tape. I had another plan that was more secure but ended up not having room.

Posted some of the pre-production pics of this project before.  Here are the finished pics with all the tiny bugs worked out.

1590B original version of the ProCo RAT:

I am now working on the 1590A version.  Waiting on prototype PCBs to see if they work!

Could you share the source of those vactrols?

Sure.  I got them off ebay.

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Xvive-Audio-VTL5C3-Opto-Coupler/331920576160?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

But Paul at diyguitarpedals.com.au also carries a version that is supposed to be correct too.

Thank you.. do they work well?  I have always made my own, and in the Mutron find the vactrols make ALL the difference in how they sound.  Do they have the "funk"?  :)

Most definitely.  It sounds great.

Lovepedal Tchula: but... used BC549C instead 2N5088, and placed a Master Vol. (green trimpot).
Pot mounted PCB... work like a charm.
I named Pchula (P-chula: "pichula",one of the many nicknames around here to refer to the penis......  ;D )

To you, buffered bypass sucks tone.
To me, it sucks my balls.

rankot

Plexy, where are you from? I ask because here where I live, the word for pussy is "p-tschka", similar to what you use for the opposite thing :)

Nice build however, and I had the same idea for my Uglyface build - since I have run out of space after adding mix pot (and already have a bunch of other pots and switches for LFO) - to add a trim pot for master volume and set it to unity gain (or little bit above) to clean signal. Mostly due to the fact that UF is extremely loud and I have never used it with volume more than 1 :)

Great new pedal name.. LOL.
