Much work, but worth it.

Nice to see the new TAPLFO3 getting some tremolo action! (left) Good work, and good luck with the new projects.

Another great build, Nathan.  :icon_cool:  Was there a schematic for this one?

Thanks :) One exists, yes. It's pretty simple so I didn't think it deserved its own thread or anything, but I'll throw the schematic your way next time I'm on the computer.

Brian - I love your work. Your site was one of the main tools that got me into stompboxes in the first place and you continue to make me want to be better 8)

Yup definitely enjoying the TAPLFO3. One thing, since I have your attention: I might be confused but is the wave form order listed in the TAPLFO3 datasheet true to the actual order? IOW, when I set my 1p8t switch/resistor bank combo as suggested in the doc to Pulse, it seems like Tri is not the next one (as it shown on the Original Wave Set). I have to check again and see which one I think it is. Or, maybe I have it backwards...maybe next from Pulse on mine is Ramp Down. I'll look again tomorrow.

That's very kind of you. Honestly, seeing the work here and on mbp keeps pushing me to do more, new things. It's a giant love fest.

I'll have a check, but it's possible there's still a few gaffs in the datasheet. Someone pointed out to me the other day that it says to one point that Pin 6 alters the Wave Set, but actually (as it says elsewhere) it's Pin 3. So I need to fix that too.

In any case, I'm really digging the TAPLFO3. I really like the wild/multi-subdivided waveforms. Regular tremolo is so passe :)

TY. Artwork in Photoshop then just PNP transfer and etch to copper clad. I pulled the paisley pattern off a royalty free site and added the rest.

I thought about doing something like this the other day, how do you get the etched area so black?

I used black FR-4 and then when the etch was completed and cleaned I did a couple passes of clear over it.

Most illuminating. Thank you!

Colorsound Powerboost on the Aion Plasma PCB, Univibe on the Madbean Harbinger 1 PCB, Madbean's 4:1 compressor. The three are themed on my recent favorite set of books - Book of the New Sun. I found the artwork on Google, and I think two of them are amazing paintings by Alexander Pruess. The vibe artwork is from the front of the book, so I'm not sure who did that one.

First attempt at envirotexing just the top. Not perfect, good enough though. Luckily the complexity of the art covers the big wet splotchy parts. I printed on one sided glossy photo paper. I think a few coats of clear on the images before envirotex would prevent this. Lots of other mistakes, but I think they look passable and most importantly, sound terrific!

Hi Brian,

Glad you're enjoying it. It's become some crazy mission of mine to get people off triangle waves Regular tremolo *is* so passe!

I checked your query about the waveform order and the datasheet matches the code, so I don't *think* there's anything funny going on. Have you got an early datasheet, perhaps? ( https://electricdruid.net/datasheets/TAPLFO3Datasheet.pdf is the link for whatever's latest ). Or could there be something funny with the 8-to-1 switch wiring?
If you're having any trouble with it, email me.

My MBP Uber Tuber build:

Update: Guts.  :icon_wink:

I'll probably keep messing with the innards (the plate voltages appear to be abnormally high), but I think I've put all the work I care to into the tater skin portion.

I've omitted the internal LEDs so the glowiness of the tube is more visible.

That's disgusting, lol.

Floor-mat at the front entrance to my former place of employment. Oh... the irony.

Thanks! I'll add some more pics showing the wiring later.  For now, I'll just add this.

Mine is somewhat similar.

UPDATE:  Added new pics to my post above.

Marcos - Munky

I really like those boxes with wooden sides. They look very vintage. I just think it missed a kind of window to see the tube from the outside.

Not a completed pedal, but I've been working really hard in making my wah mechanism more... professional? Or more factory looking, and more reliable.
