First faceplate with the new laser engraver (KKMoon 3W Diode laser - £85ish)
A lot of trial and error to get it to work. Main problem was that the first cheapo black spray paint i tried it with really didn't want to be lasered off. Took me a while before i thought the paint could be the problem. With krylon matt black the results are much better.
I did two passes with the laser and annoyingly the second one was fractionally off though previously it had been doing identical multiple passes. Sods law.
I think one pass would probably be sufficient but it's a gamble as once you move it there's no way in hell of getting it lined up again.

Initial tests with removing hammertone paint and powder coat look promising, though there seems to be a sweet spot in between removing enough paint and not discolouring the surrounding paint slightly.

Also first time i've used a toaster oven to cure paint. What a game changer! Don't have to wait like 3 weeks for hammerite to cure now.

Interestingly i discovered that if you bake Silver Hammerite it turns gold like this...pretty handy because i don't much like the silver hammerite colour.

Looks great! One thing I've done that helps sometimes is to clean the engraving with some buffing compound and a microfiber cloth. Cleans out the burned paint that didn't quite turn into smoke and also glosses the finish up nicely ;D

That's a good idea, thanks. I found that 0000 steel wool to be slightly too abrasive, often ended up removing some of the main paint.

GGG tuned Big muff with AMZ variable deep scoop. I beat it up to make it look old. Had to add the aluminum knobs because it has a metal flavor thing going on. Had that washer left over from older Starfire work.

Would inspire me to do some "Jigsaw" - Saw movie based pedal!

I used to really be with it!  That is, until they changed what "it" is.  Now, I can't find it.  And, I'm scared!  --  Homer Simpson's dad

I recently did an inventory of some of my stash and found I'd gone a bit mad acquiring sub-mini tubes, so I built Rick's "PentaBoost" in double-quick time:

Too bloody cold to spray, so this is one of Tayda's pre-painted 125Bs.  And no need for labelling, since there's only one knob (guess what it does...).  Hence the super-quick build.  And apologies to anyone offended by the faux tube-glow LED!   :icon_biggrin:

I dig it 8)

Thanks, Nathan!  Inspired somewhat by your recent 6N16/7 outings to have a scour through my "tube projects" folders for interesting things to use up some of my stash.  Also got your Omni preamp and PRe-verb on the way...  8)

60 pedals and counting!

Here's one of my creations. A simple A&B switch. You can drive 1 guitar to 2 amps simultaneously, or to amp A or to amp B. Or in reverse mode you can drive 2 guitars ( guitar A or guitar B) to a single amp. It's based on my schematics. It's been tested on over 40 amps. No problem so far. Very proud of it, because lots f AB switches have lots of problems (noise, phase shifting etc).

Since I am one-handed for awhile, and having difficulty assembling pedals-- I decided to do some Dev. type work.  Taking a stab at a Tube Screamer...

Nice!
I would like to have the possibility to build something like this. Did your creation include the trasfromers to avoid the hum when you use two amps?
No need to share your schematic, of course, if you don't want it. In case I have to build something like this I have the R.G. Keen.

I think the schematic you're talking about has a couple of serious bugs. I've managed to overcome those.

Glad you like the gloss finish.
