Printed onto sticky back clear plastic. A customer had seen my one (from years back) and convinced me to do one for them, I had a couple of covers left over as I always print several in case of failure. The two issues with the method are getting out air bubbles from under the sticker as its quite stiff, and reaction (dissolving) of the print dyes by the clear coat - manufacturers keep changing the specs...

Glad that you also appreciate the masterly graphic style of Mr. Mucha.

Those are fabulous, and the alcohol inks give the pedals a real style of their own, almost like hammered metal or corrosion. Really nice, lots of depth.

Tom is spot-on.   :icon_cool:

As I've put a question up in the forum, thought I'd post a couple of builds too. I have settled on the alcohol inks and letter stamping for the majority of my finishes now, I find it the easiest and most reliable method - I'd love to do more  interesting graphic images but I'm not good with drawing programs and hate the hassle of transfers, or etching.

I think these look great. What brand of alcohol ink are you using or are you making your own? What are you using to seal the finishes?

Nothing to practice with though, as I said in the comment-whatever-you-want thread, The only drill i have is a dremel 3000 (rotary tool)... so essentially, if I had a proper all-purpose drill, I could make some enclosures bcos I already have 3 1590b's... :P

^ ive been using a  battery hand drill for years....

As long as you centre punch, and start with a small bit 2mm or so youll be fine....

Invest in an 18v battery drill....you wont look back.  :)

If your layout is accurate and you follow these steps, you're golden. I'll add buy/use quality, sharp drill bits, don't skimp here, a pretty coating is no indicator of quality.

I've finally found the BMP version that suits me best.  This ca. 1971 Triangle is pretty similar to some Ram's Heads.  A very familiar, classic Muff sound.

All the gain I would ever want, but not muddy.  Focused and creamy.  For R13 I used a 10K fixed with a 5K trimmer in series.  "Get both" as they say.  The difference between extremes is fairly subtle but audible.

Transistors are 2N5089s with RG-tester gains in the 470-490 range.  Clipping diodes are matched pairs of 1S2473s.  Smoove.

This is the 5th circuit I've had in this same enclosure, some of my building techniques have "normalized" since the first one, but it's okay.  I had an unused toggle hole in the front, so that's why the board is bolted in place.  This is my second build with PTH perf, I don't think I can ever go back to the single pad stuff.

Gut shot only, the outside is a little NSFW and not very interesting.

Tell me about it.  "Big Muff" is always gonna get you into all sorts of trouble.  I didn't know which way to look when I built mine, with the obligatory graphic of course...   :icon_redface:

The Sustain knob is labeled "Fur" and that's all I'm gonna say about it.  ;)

Ludwig Phase II Clone i just finished....sounds absolutely amazing. Hopefully getting some graphics done for this beast soon, but here she is with some temporary labels.

Marcos - Munky

Don't know how it sounds, but it does look amazing! Did you used the layout from GeoFex?

It's the Deadend FX version. I'll try and get some audio samples and post em for you guys.

This one does not need introduction :)

i know it's just for the graphic, but i think it's kinda funny the notes spell out a half-diminished chord, probably not a chord that comes out of a Rangemaster very often.
