Brown Source, Lacesensor's trace version posted on Madbean forum. If you built Brown Source in the past and were unenthused, try this one--- it's quite different than the old one floating around (I built that years ago and did not like it). This one's a keeper for sure, and I'm normally an overdrive skeptic. Apologies for the dodgy gut shot work, function over form here. Enclosure on mine is a Hammond sloping enclosure, this is actually my first DIY paint job attempt as I don't have a powdercoat resource at the moment.

I'm really enjoying this stuff. It doesn't take much material at all but there's a good bit of work. Yesterday, after work, I went digging through the scraps bin of my "fancy" material and grabbed a bit of bubinga and ebony. Fancy Schmancy stuff.

I haven't been able to find a source for those little brass inserts with the set-screw for a decent price. There are like 3 places that have them listed for .99c a piece and a place over seas that's got them for a better price but shipping makes them about .90c a piece. That's insane, IMO. Complete knobs cost less than that. My method for this is just harvesting them from existing knobs which kinda sucks because I'm wasting things. I got 50 blemished knobs from SBP for .30c a piece which is excellent though.

I'm lazy and haven't uploaded this stuff to youtube so forgive the IG links for videos.

Here are the Bubinga and Ebony knobs I made the other day. This was my first try at a set, I was worried about keeping them uniform but it worked out well.

You can see the other 3 I've made in the background. That one looks like a barrel. And the other one, the massive one, is padauk and walnut with a bamboo indicator dot. The dots on the bubinga/ebony ones are toothpicks, so it's most likely birch.

That's the bamboo indicator. I dig the grain.

I figured out how to make them without drilling through the top, these are Honduras Rosewood. Personal favorite.

Rosewood is beautiful stuff. https://www.instagram.com/p/CIHBJ_Unlly/

These are Buginga.

I was messing around with putting some inlay markers around the side. I only made 2 so far.

35c each, cant remember what the shipping was like but I seem to remember it being reasonable.

:) I was thinking about making some sets and tossing them up on Reverb and see if I get any bites.

I appreciate the help, man. But those aren't quite what I'm looking for.

This is one I've wanted for a while and just never got around to, it's a SansAmp GT2 clone in a 1590B, finish is UV print over powdercoat. And looking at the gutshot I just realized I've had this PCB laying around for 7 months and just boxed it today :P

Can you tell us a bit more about that red color, Nathan?  That looks so cool, in a slaughterhouse floor kind of way.  (Your wife won't let you upgrade the toaster oven for your powder coating because you have made the mistake of getting damn fine results from it.  :icon_razz:)

Four knobs across a 1590B is quite wild too.  :icon_cool:

Sure, it's called Fractured Cherry from prismatic powders. It's a two-part finish (base + clear) so takes a little longer, but yeah it's one of my favorite finishes I've gotten so far.

Four across on a 1590B is easy with 9mm pots :P I just finished printing another one that has a row of 4 pots then a second row with 3 pots and a toggle, plus a pair of submini tubes in a 1590B, that one was a little tight. Hoping to get the guts in that one today or tomorrow then I'll get pictures up. Another neat finish on that one ;)

Overdrive/distortion pedal, based on Friedman BE preamp schematics. Two gain mode: BE (low gain) and HBE (high gain).

Very cool! Are the vent holes CNC machined?

Thank you! The holes in the panel are laser cut.
