Rat Box
My first use of a "Chip" in an effect.
After some finagling I got it's volts correct and it sounds pretty dam good.
Laser cut walnut box, patented battery clip, unorthodox circuitry.
LM301 in place of LM308.
(First I was going to use a real Rat Trap sans metal as the top but didn't)
Also see the stack...(As an after thought probably will laser the effect name on the side of each)

Do you know what you're doing?

My 4th successful build, a PedalPCB Nobleman, inspired by the Nobels ODR-1. Sounds great and probably going to be on my pedalboard for a while. I went for basic single-layer Tayda UV printing without varnish. This was my first printed box and my Illustrator skills have come a long way since this effort. Still, it sounds good and I like the base colour!

hi guys, ok, not a pedal but i built myself a 2u rack using a dreamtime delay, an fv-24, and a small pcb version of the astro cab sim.....took a while to plan out etc.... but it was well worth it in the end.

i was a little nervous soldering my first ever fv-1, but it was a breeze really...... 8) 8) 8)

had to build a wooden back box for the rack as most i saw were too deep for what i wanted,  i just bought a 2u rack front bare panel, and went with that.

i added 2 dc sockets for dc in and out, so i can run a small daisy for dirts on my bench or breadboards etc....freed up some space on my bench at last too.

happy bunny today.  :)

Classy build Rob. Looks really good with that meter

Lovely build Rob! The interface and the VU meter give a vibe of 70s stereo amplifiers.  :)

i did a demo....its a bit long, but hey.... :)

Despite the 70s looks, it sounds like the 70s too!

Fantastic playing. Pleasure listening to you.
The sounds I like A LOT are in timeframes:

5:10 - 5:40 (wow!!)
8:26 - 8:33

The sound in the timeframe below is my favorite one. Do you have a single pedal that can do this synth-like effect? Love it! :)

hi cheers, that sound uses the fv-1 shimmerverb patch, and a delay....

so hard to put in one pedal. (for me anyway)

currently the fv-1 is hard to get hold of, (due to factory fires apparently) so am waiting on them being readily available again...hopefully soon.  :icon_rolleyes:

but yeah you would need a shimmerverb and a delay.  so if you can find a 'shimmerverb pedal' (reverb pedal with shimmer setting) for now it should be similar.  cheers man.  8)

EDIT: from what i understand a lot of the cheapo chinese pedals have an fv-1 in ?
or am i wrong?

it's this (but repainted):
Still great price for that shape and sturdiness (about 1 to 1.5mm steel)

60 pedals and counting!

Something a little different than usual from me. I need PCBs from an organizational standpoint, but I know people want the mojo of turretboard builds, so I decided to combine the two. Powdercoated enclosure, laser engraved/cut wood veneer faceplate, UV printed on the bottom. SMPS, polarity protection, and CLR are all SMD and mounted on the bottom of the PCB, everything else is mounted obnoxiously on turrets with axial components. I only made 10 of these as a "special edition limited run," that's why I serialized them.

Nice! How are the holes for the turrets fabbed?

Just big plated through-holes on the PCB. I solder the turrets straight into the pads.

Cool - I wondered whether they were plated and connected to PCB traces or just plain holes. Thanks.
