Yeah, the volume control on my GGG build had all the "BOOST" crammed up in the last 3/4 of travel. Same for the GGG MosFET boost.
I must be missing something. Reverse log perhaps.
But they both sound great at min pot rotation anyway, so they're like a buffer to me.

The Stratoblaster , to my ears and amp, has a little more bass response.
Making the AB test give the impression the MosFET was "brighter".
A fasle statement in fact to me.
But the harmonic structure and slew factor blaa, blaa, blaa, blaa ...

Yeah, my Mosfet is the same.
I'm really using it as a vol. biist for lead work.
Jack has a mod for it on his site about making the Mosfet Boost into
a Booster/Buffer.
I may give it a try.
BTW, I tried a bunch of pots and all had the same result.
Jack has an article on the reason why the Mosfet vol control behaves the way it does.

Here's my CE-2 (Tonepad) that I just finished.  No subs.  Did the "wet-bass" and "effect level" mods.  Tried the the "vibrato" mod and thought it rather useless.  Changed it to the "intensity" mod - much better.  All mods per Tonepad.  Tight fit in a 1590B.

Sounds great. Better than my CH-1.

Paint was done by Eldon at Eldon's HotRod Fabrication.   I made one for him a while ago in a 1590BB w/red flames instead of the blue.

The technique is rather simple.  Black background w/random "wisps" of candy colors for the flames.  The clear coat really makes it "pop".





It's the same technique I've been playing with to do "Quilted Maple" effects (see "How do they doo that?" thread..)

I think it's about time to show some of the stuff I've been working on ever since
I got infected with that DIY fever... :^)
Since my home has been waiting for an internet connection for 2 months now,
I did get plenty of time to get some builds done, some for friends, some for me personally...

This is a ROG splitter blend which I modified so you can also use it as a buffered A/B box
(either blend loop A with loop B or select between A and B, bypass is always functional)
I've custom build it for a friend who plays in Pirates and pitlizzards. (hence the crossbone theme..)

This is my rehoused "build like a tank" Russian Big Muff with a EH LPB2 built in after the output
section. I highly recomend the LPB2 after the muff, it really opens up the sound and makes it
about 10x as versatile. (it can get unhealthy loud as well...) Also notice the really cool paintjob!
(hard to see but it's flat black paint "sputtered" over metallic dark grey)

This is basically a ROG splitterblend modified to be a buffered ABY with a phase reversal
on the second channel. It's specific for some fender amps that have a "out of phase" second
channel and you want to use them both simultaneously.
