syndromet

My little gem. The enclosure was meant for the Nelson 6w stereo amp, hence the name.

Well, I'd been threatening to do it since I accidentally over-etched that skull box... Its the Giger Gun, etched.  I was QUITE disappointed when Ibanez came out with the Giger line of guitars... as I've had this idea for quite some time, here it is.  The Theoplex Fuzz is basically an Octavia.. its not done but I was excited and wanted you guys to see it.
did this one offend you guys? :)
Breadboards are as invaluable as underwear - and also need changed... -R.G.

markm

Ya know,
I'm not sure what a "Giger Gun" is exactly  :icon_redface:

$uperpuma

it started out as this:

by artist H.R. Giger... who designed the alien in the ALIEN series, did E.L.P. and Blondie Album covers, and sculpted Jonathan Davis' Mic Stand...

(p.s. I used that border you gave me on that one, Mark... thanks again!!)

Oh.....Okay, NOW I know.
Sheesh, I don't get out much huh  :icon_lol:
I think it looks good pal!
No problem on the border, it makes a great template!

Haven't submitted in a while--actually, haven't built in a while either.  Here's a Tube Reamer I just finished (version 2) for a friend.  His last name is Toller, so I dubbed it the Tollerdrive.  Only mods are the switch for the si or ge diodes, and some cap changes to fit what I had on hand.  Nothing major.  the enclosure was done with a 3M scratchie (like for removing gaskets and stuff), chucked into a drill press.  I was going for that 1978 Trans Am dash look.

This is a great pedal, maybe a bit too much highs, but I'm going to let him try it first and decide, I tend to cut my highs a lot more than some.

Sad to say, but this is probably the cleanest build I've pulled off.  It's odd, even though I haven't been building frequently, I can tell that my order and off-board layout is getting (slowly) better.

nice, uniform texturing... I don't know how I never thought to use a drill press, good show!!

Thank you very much!  If you try this, be sure to use something under the box for support--with the RS boxes, anyhow--they are a bit flexible, and it takes a decent amount of pressure to get it uniform.  I had a bunch of half-moon shapes until I grabbed a piece of exhauts pip that was nearby.  Yeah, it's like shadetree mechanic here at our place...

markm

That's gotta be one of the Best RS boxes I've ever seen  :icon_biggrin:

Hey Markm!

they are lazer cut aluminum bent  enclosures designed by me and my friend who is an engineer .
you can change the design  and ask for a specific shape or number of holes.
they have cool rubber feet too :)

i powdercoat them in a factory near my house for $1 a box.
an overall good alternative for the traditional hammond.i'm not so good with hammond boxes..

btw- i like your layout gallery!
gonna try the ea tremolo  soon

markm

Thank you very much.  They're cheap, too.  Like $3 or $4.  Not as sturdy as a hammond or even raco, but decent for most of us.

And yes, the knobs are RS, as well (my pirated supply from old guitars ran short...).

ranchak

Jim, do you know where you can buy those jacks?
