Here's my design for the my next  project. Betcha can't guess what it is... ;D

Yes I realise it is a complete rip off of the new EHX version but I like that design a fair bit and I don't see why I shouldn't since I'm not going to be selling them or anything terribly sinful like that.

Btw I love that multieffex board a couple of pages back!

Hehe... cool! Isn't that hard to drill material? Rather thick and not alu or is it?

well it is difficult indeed because you need to fix the thing to something, and  you have to put it in some difficult angles... it took me about 40 minutes to drill... not too hard and I don't think it is aluminium...

There is no reason why you SHOULDN'T use this graphic on your own box, since your making a one-off.

However, there are multiple reasons why it is wrong to post it.

Yeah, thank God he didn't put one of those little vented tube-shield things on it or there'd be hell to pay!!!

Here's my current build.
A Dr boogey in an Oak enclosure with a shellac and disolved 78 RPM record finish.
Sort of an antiqued distressed look I guess.
Sounds great If I may toot my own horn here.

Looks great too!

Like something Charlie Christian would have plugged into (under potest from the band leader of course).

The LED looks a little to modern compared to the finish and knobs. I wonder what could be done about that?

i disagree.. at least its a 3mm coloured led, and not a fancy 5mm clear one. coloured it could have been prior to the 60's. and it doesn't have  modern/ugly bezel. i suppose the ultimate would be a 12v globe running at 9volts like off an amp...

not having a led at all it's the best "non-modern" style... but the hole it's in there!!! btw, looks terrific!!! didn't you tried to make some woody knobs? ???

you could use a fender "gem" bulb cover over a white LED. that would look kickass!!!

choklitlove

yeah, but i think he should just leave it.  it looks pretty good as-is.

The LED is a 5mm size. It looks small but then you figure that the Enclosure is 5"x7"! I am going to go with am amber LED instead I think. I just put in the red one for the photo..

It would look cool with a Fender Jewel lamp and a White LED. Space is a bit cramped inside but the jewel sits on the top of the box mostly so inside won't get too much more junked up. The knobs aren't as Vintage as I'd like but since I usually use larger knobs they wouldn't fit here with six of them.

I was thinking of making some wooden knobs but then you figure that I spend way too long on these anyway. We'll see, It would (pun) be pretty cool with wood knobs.

Say! those wood knobs linked above are nice! Only $36 and I'll have a set of 6.

Instead of the usual cover shot, I thought I'd do a pic of the guts of my four knob Rat project. Quite a load of stuff in there :)
