John, that might be my favorite woody yet!  Do you reinforce the footswitch area with anything?  A luthier I know made wood pedal case that I did the electronics for, and we were both paranoid it would break eventually.

Other than where the jacks are the thickness is roughly 3/8 of an inch thick.
The jacks are recessed into the inside of the sides and the top is recessed slightly for the stomp switch.
The sides are white oak and the top is very dense and strong wood.
There are also some wood supports inside for the bottom lid.
It would take a lot of strong abuse to break it, if at all.

Just finished this. Its a hybrid fuzz face. Sounds VERY good. The bias pot has an extremely wide range.

Wait a minute, that's a Dano Power Source 9V Battery!
I'm a sucker for the lug-board construction though, very cool!  8)

This one is a lot nicer than the last one, IMO. Sounds better too.

Besides, this one uses cloth wiring, and you KNOW that = tone !    :D

markm

Oh yeah I do!
Cloth wires sound very different. That's probably half the tone of that circuit if I had to take a guess!  :icon_idea:

Probably closer to 63%.

16% comes from the carbon comp resistors.

4% comes from the sprague electro's and orange drop.

11% comes from the turret board.

5% comes from the NOS Mullard germanium and hand selected silicon transistors.

The remaining 1% comes from the special magic solder.

:D

Actually... you can't since there is no "stomp switch"!  ;D
Don't mean to be rude though,... that's actually a very nice box!
(and the cardboard one was definatly original as well)
It's supposed to sound that way.

on your camera, there should be a little flower looking button/setting...make sure you have that on when taking pictures close up.

There are several companies that can make them for you. The name of this one is escaping me right now, but i'll post it if i remember.

Thanks ! :)

I'm just trying to get to the level of "clean" that you see in Dave Barbers pedals and Hiwatt amps !

One thing I have found : If you take the extra time to wire everything cleanly like this, its extremely rare that you end up with any problems to troubleshoot.

I've been eying these assembled mini turret boards for a while. There are several sizes.
Made by Keystone, available from Mouser, digikey, and Allied.
