how did you do your gain pot?
do you have a schem you used?

i used a 1k pot that connects from the emitter of the transistor to ground. lug 1 of the gain pot is connected to lug 2.  thats it, seems to work pretty well.

basically the exact same way the 'Dirt' control is wired in this bazz fusss version:

ahh i see, ill probably do the pot and electrolytic gain pot

yeah, sort of a cheap protection from oxidation since they'll have grubby paws all over them.  i'm sure i could have done a neater job, but it still looks kind of cool i think.

I'd say it adds to the overall look, like a leaded inlay or silver embossment... very cool.

Lol I was wondering if anyone would suggest lead free.  I still solder with lead I have to rolls left, and I prefer it.  although I wuold prob go lead free in that case

here is my ugly garbage bin/salvage parts alembic stratoblaster   ;D ;D

the junk yard boost!  everything except the transistor was stolen from junk boards laying around. jumpers are resistor leads.  the little dpdt switch is from an old computer speaker.  looks like garbage but it sounds good.  the only "new" stuff like i said it the transistor, and the white wiring.  the vero board was broken in the mail so i never used it until now

i had to make a special layout just for those tiny resistors/caps because i stole them so the leads were way too short for any other layout, lol

Some of my favorites are made out of "junk" too!

Hey Andy, you know the rules. If you post a picture, you need to give us more info about the circuit. :icon_mrgreen: :icon_razz: :icon_twisted:

I rarely spend much time on aesthetics, but this is an amp (Noisey Cricket mk II).
Knobs are from an old test oscillator I got for $2.
(As well as some neat knobs, it contained four ECC801/01 valves, which I sold for $400).

Hi,
these are on the left a silicon Fuzz Face quasi-clone (there's an additional cap to smooth out the harshness a little) and on the right a simplified Tube screamer with some mods (it is quite similiar to the 2nd version of the ROG Tube Reamer).
