The finish didn't work out so well. I already dinged it.  :icon_redface:

How does it sound compared to 9v or 18v? A pedal @ 37v, not bad!

I don't know. :icon_redface: My original plan was to put a switch in there to toggle between 9v and 34v (I just measured it again--it's 34, not 37) but as I got close to finishing it, I decided I didn't want to clutter up the build with another switch. The booster sounds huge. I assume a part of that is the extra voltage.

that thing looks great. Care to share how you did the graphics?

It's Chartpak rub on lettering. The clear is Future floor polish. I don't know if the Future is really tough enough for this sort of thing. You can see above the knob where the line rubbed off a bit.

This is the first time I've had enough room to use standoffs to secure the board. Yay.

looks great! I like the white lettering on a red box.
how are the standoffs installed? I'm considering using some on my next project.

Dschwartz, that´s a very nice box. Can I ask you the brand and/or model of the adhesive metallic paper that you use? Since I live in Argentina, maybe I can get the same one here, it looks nice for labelling, I want to try it.
Also, did you get the alu box in Chile? Brand, model? In argentina the Hammond/Retex boxes are unavailable... here the boxes are the most diificult item to get, we have to settle for less than ideal ones.

Thanks

JB Weld! Just a small amount seems to do the trick. (My standoffs are aluminum.)

What scheme did you use? I have one for the amz mini buffer, but it doesn't have any diodes. I see a lot in your pedal though...

You squeezed it into a 1590A - you insane fool!  :icon_mrgreen:

Well this... this is just silly... this can't fit in a 1590B... can it? And you're not even using SMD you mad man!

For my Belgian friend Valoosj:
It has a MAX1044 IC added, it requires those diodes to pump the voltage

how are you getting 37v our of an 18v charge pump?

You can add more diodes and caps to get higher voltages:

I used your layout for the charge pump portion, btw. Thanks!

That is perfect and offensive!

I haven't commented on this thread in a long time, because EVERY SINGLE THING I've seen since my last one has been pro.

Seriously.  Wow.

Definitely worth another quote. Love your choice of colors, it really brings Hendrix to mind. YOu did a bang up job with that one... got anymore you care to share?

My second boxed-up effect. The box is made from bent 1mm sheet aluminum, which was etched using markms great tutorial. Sides are pine (i think) and the only thing missing is the clearcoat to keep the ugly black smudges away.. someday maybe  :)

Very cool enclosure, spule. Looks awesome.

Cute.  I'm reminded of the old PAiA units like the Synthespin, Phlanger, Gnome, etc.  It's a build approach which can have a lot of visual class, despite being pretty low-tech.

you should make a tutorial on HOW to make cool enclosures like these! I mean, everyone has an idea but it'a better is explained!

Very cool!

Now I've got myself a camera so here's a better pic of my BSIAB2 and some gut shots as well.

Enjoy yourself! :D

My neatest build this far. Cable ties are a marvelous things :)

http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc222/nilssonb/P9200083.jpg

I used some plastic tubing (the kind they ship surfacemount IC's in) as spacer for the PCB. Visible at the left under the board.

...but a few adjustments were needed. The last picture shows an excellent example of how to use a stock GCB-95 as well ;)

Very nice work, clean. Are those green square boxes poly-film caps? Who makes them?

Thanks everyone   ;D

Well I did plan on making enclosures for an orange squeezer and a condor cab sim next weekend- i'll definitely make some pictures and notes of the process..
