Hey Caress,  I really like how you finished those boxes.  Did you put some netting over the squarewave when you put on the last coat of paint?

Looks like he uses a base color, then lays nylon screen (or possibly burlap)over the top, then sprays / brushes on a second contrasting color. When the screen is removed, it will leave that pattern.

exactly, it was a screen that i found.  not exactly the results i hoped for, but a good experiment, nonetheless...

here's my first enclosure thats not sharpie + rustoleum

and my first enclosure on my drill press. So, the decals a little off, the holes aren't exactly straight (the knobs are just sitting there, no pots yet) and I need some clear and decal solvent to hide the edges. Overall, I'd say its good so far!

Huge thanks to MarkM's awesome tutorial.

Here's some pictures:
My first etch
S.N.F.T.B.P (something.nice.for.the.bass.player/ fooltone bassdrive clone)

My second one
Reverse Etch. Didn't work out as well as I was hoping.
Hot Pie (Hot Cake clone)

My third
Green Dragon (TS-808 with mods)
I started to use photoshop and got rid of that huge-pixel problem  ;D

And this one I just finished.
Hotcomp (Ross comp with mods + Orange squeeser)

Great etches!  I love "girlie pedals"  That tat style dragon is nice too.

those are really impressive! i like the idea of the etched boarder going to black, and how you got the led over the dc power input. the reverse etch looks awesome. why didn't you try filling it with black and sanding it carefully? that makes for an interesting look.

keep 'em coming (:
Blood, Sweat & Flux. Pedals made with lasers and real wires!

My latest McMeat build. Just finished this evening. Still working out how to work the damn thing though.

Thanks  ;)
I did try to fill it, and tried sand it off couple of times. It first had bindings on it. But they were little off. So I removed them (before etching). Without those lines on the top, I couldn't remove that black paint from it. Or I could, but I also removed it from the areas that should stay black. ;D

OMFG. That's a whole lotta knobs. And gold.  ;D

What size enclosure is that? Gut shot?

axg20202

It's a DD enclosure from Smallbear. Gold courtesy of Autoair colours (alumnium base plus sunset candy).   Gut shot? Yeah, I guess I could post one, but anyone who knows about this pedal knows the insanity within!  :icon_wink:  Looks like a rats nest inside. Knobtastic!

foxfire

hey Movinginslowmo, not to be crud but i kind of have a boner? don't take it personally it's not you it's your pedals.

MarcoMike

that meatball turned out very nice! I was tempted to use a DD enclosure as well... I wish I have done it! I'm envious now :P

what about the lettering? how is it done?
Only those who attempt the absurd will achieve the impossible.
