haha good
behringer did the same thing with one of there mic preamps
had some tubes behind a screen just sitting there with amber led's behind them

Everybody rips on that, but Engl does it with their $1600+ amp heads...

It's all just for aesthetics.

I really does look great, Dan.  I love all-over pictures etched like that.
Breadboards are as invaluable as underwear - and also need changed... -R.G.

Krinor

Here's something I've been working on lately... I was a bit fed up with all these small boxes so I decided to try a different approach. This is a multi effect unit where the modules can be patched in different configurations.  I'm planning a larger version of this with nine modules. Nice for studio work. The whole thing could be controlled with a couple of A/B switches and a looper on the floor...

In this one I have a modified DOD 440 envelope filter, a Tremulus Lune and an Uglyface.

@Krinor: Wow! Very nice!
Any gut shots?

Nice build Kristian!!!  :icon_wink:
Done an' workin'=Too many to mention - Tube addict!

hey, Krinor, what'd you use for the panels? just sheet metal of some sort? and, how do you mark them? the gradings look really good. i love those sub-divided lines on a black panel. looks like some crazy high-tech scientific equipment, you know?

Yeah, the idea was to make something that looked a bit Mini Moog'ish.

The box is made from oak panels. I used 1.5 mm thick aluminum plates for the back and front panels. The graphics are printed on decal paper which is then clear coated. I guess a cheaper way to do this would be to glue on some ordinary photo paper.

Here's a gut shot. Note the sloppy wire job  :icon_mrgreen: No need to go minimalistic in here as there's lots of room.  :icon_wink: Oh, and there's no common power jack or anything. The whole point here is to be able to take modules out completely and replace them with others.

Pushtone

Nice looking panels there. Very clean. Now lets see the other side, please.

For anyone interested in marking a scale around the controls...
Check out the link Dave B posted in this thread

for making control scales for your knobs.

Its a web page that spits out an eps file for use in your panel artwork.
The eps file can be used in Photoshop or whatever graphic software you use.

edit: Wow, indepentdant power supplies!!   :icon_wink:
It's time to buy a gun. That's what I've been thinking.

Thanks for the link!

I found the graphics for this project at Ray Wilsons site: http://www.musicfromouterspace.com/

I just copy/pasted and spent some time with photoshop...

Well this... this is just silly... this can't fit in a 1590B... can it? And you're not even using SMD you mad man!

The Iron Chef

The differences in personal style here is amazing to see.
This is my effort on the "Trotsky Drive" I initially used a 2n2222a transistor then found that I liked a standard 2n3904 better.  More usefull range.
the enclosure is 4" x 4" x 1/8 wall extruded aluminum tubing. 1/8" thick top and bottom panels.  2" thick overall. Black anodized and CNC engraved afterward. I
went for a sort of "cold war" spy shot  look.

Yes, cool picture. I'll bet that in your next shot of a Russian spy pedal there will be a guitarist who has just mysteriously keeled over.

cloudscapes

first swirl

oil paints and then motomaster clear.

has anyone tried tea? next I want to paint one dirty white, whitish beige, whatever, and then drop really thick tea on it and let it evaporate/dry into stains. I think it would be kind of cool.

It made me think of The Arcade Fire's video for "Neighborhood #2 (Laika)".
