Got this old beaten up Ibanez enclosure a while ago. Decided to give it some new life. Now it's an Orange Squeezer compressor. I added external bias, which really adds a lot of versatility.

I know, but the pedal i built does not boost...it just increases volume!

Absolutely! I've finish it with a pair of tweezer...a few second more and i'll throw it by the window...opening the window before with a huge smile! ;)

3K? K does'nt mean x1000 so 3k=3000 we are just at 0.3K and i bet i'll never see the 3K one but the son of my son will surely...Wondering if there still gonna have swirl finished enclosure? What would be trendy in 2700 picture page? Maybe silicium based enclosure with holographic label! No holographic moving swirl!  :o

I don't know, 300 pages in almost 3 years, but the number of members is increasing exponentially.  I'd say we'll reach 3000 pages, oh, sometime in the fall.

That looks awesome!

Thanks!

Quote from: cheebWhat were your steps?...I detect several coats (looks like a green is in there somewhere)?

It's just two coats, actually.

Here's what I did:

Transfered the resist via semi-bonded paper (page out of a magazine). I wanted the fist image to be embossed, so I etched the entire surface of the bottom plate *except* for where the image is. In other words, I didn't make a reversal of the image to etch it out, I etched everything but the image. I like that look better. Then I etched in muriatic for, literally, about a minute and half. That stuff is insane on aluminum.

Then I hit it with a light coat of Duplicolor MetalCast blue. (I think it's the only one of the MetalCast colors that doesn't have any sparkles in it. Without the MetalCast Groundcoat underneath, it looks like flat, translucent blue.) I let that dry for about 15 minutes and then I did another light coat of the same paint. Then I put that in my enclosure toaster on very low heat for about 45 minutes. Then I used coarse sandpaper on a sanding block to take the paint off the fist and then I just went around and thinned/scuffed the rest of the finish.

That's it. All things considered, it was pretty quick and very easy.

Finished Neovibe. I need to lower the value of the speed caps and I might substitute the speed pot for a 500k or 1 meg dual so I can keep low speeds and get some faster ones. Hopefully the silonex LDRs will respond to faster LFO times.

Damn that sounds good. I think I should finally build it, as I do have almost all the parts here, and the pcb etched :D
