NICE! I just bought me a load of them -- now I have to try and hunt down a US supplier...

Smallbear has those jacks, too.

Yes, I see that now -- but even with International shipping, I paid half what Steve sells them for at 100 ct.

Hola Daniel!!

This is definitely one of your bests works alongside of the Dual Rectal series and many others. It really sounds lovely an looks awesome... but the most important thing is the whole concept of mix the LFO to create something new. Congrats for your new "son".

Only one thing, if may I correct you in something small: If I recall from school and from my trip to Nazca many years ago, the cat is actually "the dog". Looks like there's a concensus about the names and meanings of the lines, check this out:

De todas formas es un excelente trabajo... good job!!

hahahaa.. you got me terry! I know that the right draw is a dog (and the left one is the "humming bird").. is just i wanted to play with the concepts..since cats go "meeeaaaawww" like a phaser, and a humming bird goes "trrrrrrrrr" like a tremolo... :icon_mrgreen: :icon_mrgreen:
The box was inspired by a couple of little wooden boxes i have, souvenirs fron nazca valley, with the animals drawed..i just loved the way they look..so simple, beautifull, and is a part of south american culture that i want to share with the communnity from now on. I want to use names like "el trauko", "la llorona", "pillán", "pisco sour"  ;D etc...

chilean and peruvian culures are really rich on ethnic history..i want to honor that..
greetings from Chile!!!

No I haven't done a boss type box. Sounds interesting though.
I kind of like simpler lines...The huing would be pretty labor intensive!
Someone with a CNC could do it a lot more efficiently I think.

This thread keeps getting better!

Here's my girlfriend's new 386 bass amp.  She wanted to learn, so I whipped this up for her.

The last one is a nasty picture, but you can see how nicely the waterslide rests on the paint splatter.  I used this stuff called Micro Sol to soften it.  I'm really happy with the results, although I wish the "Ultra Bright Pink LED" from mouser was a little more neon and a little less salmon : )

Also, John - could you post some views of the interiors so we can see the type of joinery and shielding you're using; or is that a secret.

Here's my first attempt at finishing a box.  The pics don't do it justice.  the clear coat is 1/4" thick, and the gold glitter is suspended in it to give it a 3D effect.

Hey Daniel... I see your point now and you got right... cats does that swirly "meawwww" like the phaser does. Your design is really close to wooden boxes and stuff with those pre-hispanic cultures designs that here in Peru we found often. It's really nice to see that you are honoring and sharing that legacy, keep doing this awesome job.

Cheers from Lima, Peru.

yeah like that
after some searching and looking around at other peoples builds, i realized i didnt need a dark grain wood to get the effect i wanted
what is the first enclosure? i remember the second one is oak with a melted vinyl finish or something?
but also while i was searching on ebay, i found "bob's exotic woods"
holy shit the wood this guy has in BEAUTIFUL
but most of it is pen blanks or knife scales
but still, incredible wood

These three cover a lot of ground:

The top one is a Dr. Boogey with the presence pot fixed at some value, I don't remember what. Had to do it that way to fit all the pots in one row. Sounds excellent! I tried out a lot of designs before I just decided to go for the raw metal look. Nobody knows what the boxes look like before we paint them anyway, so people think it looks great  ;).

The bottom one on the left is a BluesBreaker with a boost in front. It really sounds great, but it's oh so noisy. Sounds great at low gain levels, almost too noisy at higher gain, but in a live situation, who cares... For the record - I tried a MOSFET booster in front of a real BluesBreaker - same result, just as noisy as mine. So I'm happy with it.

The one on the right is a Red Llama, my favourite overdrive. Stock. Perfect.

Routed from a solid block of wood ... parts are just in there for a mock-up.

I shielded it with foil and it has so far sat empty on the shelf ... I'm scared of it.  :icon_eek:

I think he's trying to say only one picture is showing in your post.  There are two pedals showing...the Dr. Boogey and BluesBreaker.

Oh, right, I thought it was clear. It's like nitefly says. The BluesBreaker and the Red Llama are in the same enclosure. Darn this foreign language.

Edit: The booster in front of the BluesBreaker is hardwired, but of course it was the natural thing to assume that the two pots would be for the booster. My bad.
