BSAIB based distortion with added boost

so basically a box of rock
hows it sound???

I built the BOR a while back and the bsiab recently, and I gotta say, the bsiab wins hands down.  For open chords and single notes, they sound pretty similar, but the bsiab can get some serious crunch on for palm mutes etc.

Aged Tweed

Beautiful job there John! The corner miter looks great, everythings lined up perfectly. What type of glue did you use to glue down the tweed, contact cement or is there something better suited for use here?

I used 5 Minute epoxy. I did not want this to come off ever!
It's also sealed with 4 heavy coats of brush on tinted polyurethane and a final coat of satin spray lacquer.
For wood I yellow wood glue.

just a joke, ive read that the bsiab and bor are similar circuits, plus that added output boost, you know...
well, to me the bor is nothing that special (after seeing the schematic), the brown sound, after i heard the samples on John's website, more than enough to grab my attention

$5, yikes!

I'll stick with the "cupcake" knobs
If someone wanted them bad enough I guess...

The boax is empty right now.
$45 and it's yours!

We (my wife and I) finalized the artwork for my A/B channel switcher, The Switch, and here it is in all its hand-painted glory:

They look awesome. What kind of paint do you use, what about clearcaoting?

Nice Work

plate voltage is about 65V, inside there's a voltage multiplier (to boost the 9V AC into 65V DC),

These are some great lookin' pedals !
Tube pedal...nice look and layout, perhaps fix a handle for over-round the exposed glass.
  Tweed...that worked outstandingly !
I tried chickenheads on an amp.
All my amps have chickenhead knobs now.

Thanks. We use enamel base paint with acrylic detail. I then clear with poly or auto enamel.

A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine asked me to take all my boosters to his basement...
He tried them all. LPB, Rocket, Sparkle, and the others in my sign....
He tried the Valvy too...He really liked this last one, you really have a transparent booster with the gain at its min.
And liked the Tillman a lot...
After some A/B he chose to order a Tillman, he tought it's the best for his needs...

So here it is, the FAB BOOSTER made for Fabio Taddeo of Four Vegas (a great local rock and roll/oldies band)

Splendido Adriano! Buon lavoro! Is it a decal or a clear sticky paper? Nice paint too!
Dan
I know, but the pedal i built does not boost...it just increases volume!
