I wish I could see your fingertips Rick, they must be burnt, it sooooo hard to keep
those little bit of wire in place and get so close with the solder tip!!

He's both-handed, and I mean he uses his four arms and hands for every purpose :icon_twisted:

What do you think about the one I posted, I miss one of your 'My god, we are taking you out of here' comments.

I love all your builds Fernando, it almost goes without saying. Yours are the most impressive pedals I've seen anywhere. Ever.  :icon_razz:

What does the knob labeled "cont" do? I'm going to build one too and an extra knob is always good  ;)

Kitarist

Its proably a contour knob. It cuts the high treble or so

Hey all. My latest and greatest. Gotta give a BIG BIG thanks to Rick for help on the power supplies for this one.

And the promo shot:

As the promo says, it's a tube overdrive. 175V into the anode resistor, and 6.3V to the fillament. Running on a single vintage 12AX7. The two switches control independent channels. The first channel is a bit more restrained than the second. The second has the volume control, so if you want subtlety, you can use just channel 1 and control the boost from there. If you don't, you can turn both channels on, turn both gains up to full, and just adjust the volume. The clipping at full is very much like a high gain amp. It's taken inspiration from a shed load of amps including the AC30's top boost, a Soldano SLO100, a Silvertone 1475 (i think that was the one), and an AC100. Months of work gone into this, and i'm hoping to launch a small company out of it.

Hmm... trad3mark, I think it's ok for you to show your build here, but putting an actual advertisement in your post is kind of crossing the line a little IMO. Perhaps you could consider removing the ad?

There's been some discussion of this before:

BTW, your pedal looks quite nice.

What's holding the tube socket in place? It doesn't look like there's a mounting bracket on there--is there something supporting it underneath?

Here's a Rangemaster I built for a friend.  He's kind of a perv, so he's calling it the Thighmaster.

As a little bonus, since he's 100% Texan, I used a beautiful specimen of a mil spec Texas Instruments 2N1305/7332 germanium transistor.  It even has gold plated leads.

Taylor, i wasn't intending to advertise it. It's not for sale or anything (yet!). That was just a 10-minute photoshop job like. Trust me, if it was going to be a proper advertisement, it would look much better than that! I can't modify that post anyway.

jacobyjd, It's a SERIOUSLY tight squeeze in that box. There actually isn't any space for a mounting bracket. There's barely enough space for the tube as it is. HOWEVER, purely because it is such a tight squeeze, that tube isn't moving anywhere. realistically, i think it could do with a bigger box, but, it's grand as is.

Could the heat of the tubs not cause damage to the surrounding wires? Or will it not get THAT hot?
