Libelle - Dual LFO Optical Tremolo.

Based on the Tremulus Lune, with some modified values. I made my layout based on tonepad's layout for this proyect. Fantastic tremolo, I'll be making a video soon.

Plaease, don't! We don't need distorted cakes or electronic wired scarfs! :icon_mrgreen:

Fernando, is that a 3pdt with ONLY TWO poles being used!? How DARE you!
Hey everyone! Look! I found an 'error' in one of Slade's builds! Everyone point and laugh!

Seriously that's a fantastic looking build, inside and out.
Quote from: frequencycentral on February 25, 2010, 01:43:44 PM
Nah, he's just 'future-proofed' it, he's obviously planning to add some extraordinary mod at some point which will use the unused extra pole.

But then again, look at those two resistors to the left of the 3PDT. Standards are slipping, he's getting complacent, he's on the slippery slope - point and laugh!

I appreciate all your kind words very much, I feel really flattered.

You have all put a high bar to me every time I make a pedal. I feel now like with a responsability with you!
That's good, I need to innovate with every new pedal and every new design, I feel in debt and I thank you all for being so kind with me :icon_biggrin:

The idea might stick as a fart in the elevator...and then I have to squeeze one inside a 1590A ;).

LOL  ;D

I don't think you meant this the way I'm interpreting it, but I just laughed my head off  :D

OK
I get it. No that was not intended but it sort of has its own point. I might try it. That would be DIY in the true sense of the word. I will try not to leave any left over's :o
Is that what they call a distortion? Never the less I think it will be a gaz

my newest cake  ;D

The Bleeding Muff Pi ( because, man, ive seen some goddamn bleedingerr nevermind   :icon_eek: )

its the unholy cross between a triangle muff and a SHO booster (booster in front, some raspy fuzz tones i tell you... ), plus some tone shaping features:

it bleeds, indeed

i like the back of the effect better than the front (just a little), but guess what!... this the part no one sees  :D ..only the owner and you guys

cheers and keep up the good work

Nice! Mod the values of your sho any? I did something like that recently...LPB on front of a BMP. Sounds huge and throaty for bassists.

kungpow79

Goth.  Cool.  The back is great.

What's your technique?

DaPhinoXX

That looks awesome, but how do you wire twin pedals?

This is really an amazing work!!!

And the pcb layout looks good, too. Have you posted it somewhere? I couldn´t find a good layout for the dual lfo-version and my skills to draw one myself are very limited...

Hi! My first pics in this forum!

This is a Clyde McCoy with the usual mods. Output buffer, two inductors (whipple and crybaby), 4 position sweep range switch and bass/mids trimpots. I started with the PCB from fuzz central, and then started trying out all these mods. That's why it's so messy inside... Don't pay attention to the name...it's bad inside humor from my time in high school  ;D

I use a cheap powder coating gun and a small sandwhich owen and I'm quite satisfied with the results. First I put on the paint, then I do the markings with PhotoEZ HiRes, then I add a clear layer of powder coat. I've made a few boxes with spray paint but I never got it right. The paint fell off on some places before I was even ready with the installation! IMHO powder coating is easier and faster. And I don't have to inhale fumes!

The sound of this wah is great! My Vox from about 95' sounded thin and pale compared to this. Range switch comes in handy when I switch to dual inductor and the sound darkens quite a bit. I can then choose a brighter range. Great pedal!

That powder coat looks great Miska!

Do you mind my asking what you're using? gun/paint/booth. I'd love to have results like that.

Latest build...

The Dr. Boogie (Gaussmarkov layout) was a pain! I finished it in a day though, probably 6 hours combined on the build today, however that doesn't include my labeling or clearcoating time, and I didn't finish the box - PPP did - and if any of you have used a prismatic black finish from them you'll realize how the finish doesn't come through in pictures, but looks freaking unbelievable! The only modification was to put in a pair of switchable gain pots instead of just one. One's a 1M and the other 500k, each with it's own LED. The more you turn up the pots, the bigger the variety between the two settings.

The pedal itself was painful to build because I was dealing with the usual oscillation issues. found out I hadn't grounded the gain pots so I fixed that. That lowered but didn't eliminate the oscillation, so I looked closer, re-soldered some connections which improved some more but not all of the oscillation. So then I decided to play with the trim pots, and following a search here I decided to crank down the trim pots on Q1 and Q2. I didn't bother measuring them, just figured out where I liked the sound and that was good. The usual recommendations are to set the Q's at 4.5, which I had done, but the gain was full blast when set anywhere above 0. I also had to substitute 1uF electrolytic caps in place of the Film boxes most people use, but that's cause they were all I had available.

After playing with it for about a half hour, I found a wide variety of great settings I can see myself using occasionally, and that was just through the headphone amp. I'm not too optimistic that it will make my Fender Concert sound like a Rectifier stack, but it's got a lot of control with the 4 band tonestack. The dual settings for the gain pot are different. I kinda wish I had two of the same pot to use, but having the 500k vs. the 1M pot gives the gain channels obviously different channels unless they're all the way down or all the way up, and when all the way up they're still a little different. One question I have is whether the gain controls are supposed to influence the level of the pedal, because at 0 on the gain setting the pedal is nearly off. Anyway, this has become more of a build report and less of a pictures thread reply so here's the shots:

And the Guts (Not up to my more recent builds to be honest, but I had the debugging to do and I guess was a little lazy - smaller builds are easier to have nice guts - this has 7 pots, 3 LED's and 2 3PDT's for heavens sake!):
