In order to make a circuit work you need a ground return.
The box is the ground return. I use lock washsers to make a solid
connection. That is the "spacer" Taylor mentioned.

The only bad sounding stomp box is an unbuilt stomp box. ;-)

Hey there, its been a while since I posted. Just built this rangemaster with some tweaks. Bias pot added and bias resistors: 180K and 40k pot. Input cap .05 . If Im not mistaken this starts the frequency response at about 100Hz.
Im waiting for an OC 71, but for now this AC 188 is awsome.
I will be playing in a Black Sabbath tribute band so this box into my 1974x Marshall 18 combo does the job!
Cheers

Here it is.....in spirit of the boys from Sabbath, its not very beautiful but rather hardcore and heavy :icon_mrgreen:
Quick and dirty ready to rock.

I got macro crazy, as I tend too.

This is my Crunch Master (don't know if anyone else has used this name...), a design based on the Crunch Box and Guv'nor pedals, they're pretty much the same with some different cap values and tonestack.. This pedal gives such incredible tones and has a super versatile tonestack for a lot of gain styles. Really happy with the results, I'll upload a demo in a few days, no time to do it now.

Your etchings are amazing!! I know you've written a tutorial on your methods but you really should make a video. I would love to watch you make some of your designs!

I would love to see a video as well. Your designs and technique are awesome!

Modded my Rangemaster once more.
I have a new transistor that sounds even better than the other one exept now with humbuckers, it was a bit woofy with the .05 cap, but was nice with my P-90....so I added a .02 and .01 cap and switch. Im all set now.

And, don't forget some gum for mojo.  You can save it there for when you do the next mod!

Momo,

Love that Rangemaster.  That switch is DOPE!

momo

Ya man, I love the switch too. I have to say, so far, old movie projectors are my favorite for scavenging funky stuff, including this switch. Some of my best enclosures are projector parts.
