This is normal silver-wire with 0,14mm², I buy it at the german pedal-store called "Musikding"...

Yeah, I don't like those white washers either. I keep meaning to stock up on either some proper washers or those knurled face nuts that the Carling switches come with but I never seem to get around to it.

In my opinion it sounds good The Llama is very rough compared to the LTD but that's obvious because the LTD is just a low gain drive. That doesn't mean that it can't be dirty but the Llama is much more of a bad ass than the LTD. I have yet to _play_ with it. I only checked if everything is working the right way. The trim pots have to be adjusted. Does anyone know the factory settings for the trim pots?

What transistor do you use?

I was just to lazy to use vero or etch a PCB!  Figured tag was good for a build this simple.  Transistor is a Matsushita 2sb172 I bought of "Any", a user here.

I was going to ask why you don't use angled (45 degree) corners in your trace patterns, since it's supposed to be better for the circuit flow. I see now that you are using other people's patterns like the frequency central "Murder One" PCB above. But I remember your own DOD 250 clone PCB layout has 90 degree corners too.

I'd venture a guess that the difference between 45 and 90 degrees in stompbox circuits like these extremely miniscule.

Hmm, you may have something there. Apparently it only negatively affects the PCB corner etching process when using narrow traces 12 mils or less. I had always heard it is best practice to avoid sharp bends for impedence reasons, EMI radiation, etc. But this analysis paper on right angle corners seems to agree with your stance:

I stand corrected! But I do like angles and rounded corners for asthetic design style reasons.

When I applied the clear coat, the decals began to swim a little bit, but I like that "vintage" look  



It´s a mix of the ´77 and the ´78 version, using a czech maa741c opamp, 1n4001 diodes and a strange old WIMA cap.
A great little machine to boost my Catalinbread DLS clone!
