I think the knobs are a bit too far apart and get too close to the footswitch. Unless people are using chicken head knobs they don't have to be that far apart. With 16mm Alpha pots and the regular pointer knobs you could get them all in one row easily. Otherwise, good job, can't wait to see someone etching that  ;D

It depends. I've found you can easily go 6 wide on a 1790NS, maybe 7 if you have the right knobs and perfectly drill. But on a 1590BB I couldn't get more than 5 wide and still use 3/4" knobs effectively. My knobs didn't have pointers on them. Really, the best way to find out how to space your pots is to get out your knobs and enclosure and lay them on top until you find a configuration that works. Flip it over and put the pots inside to see if it will work on the other side, and don't forget to consider how to wire them all too.

The orignal graphic is alright, but I think you can go 5 wide easily, maybe 6 if you have 1/2" knobs and a steady drilling hand.

Hmm yeah, i just did some measurements, and you're right, they would be a bit too close to each other. But still i would go with a different layout, i don't like having the knobs so close to the footswitch.

Haven't got bored of the Star Wars themed pedals yet!

May I introduce......

R2EQ

Its a Run Off Groove Tonemender built into an R2D2 bubble bath bottle I've had for years. Functions fully as a pedal but was designed to be used with my little Valve Jr amp seeing as it lacks any Tone controls.

Really pleased with the sound, liking the Fender voiceings the most and I can get a sound pretty similar to my 64 Bassman. There is a tiny bit of noise from it but hardly noticable. I may redo the shielding if I can be bothered (probably wont then!!)

Here's a rather messy guts shot.

Cheers,
Jimi

of course!! Hmm.... How could I get it to play an audio sample of R2 when switched on? ???

THAT! R2EQ is very cool!  You need to etch Han Solo in Carbonite! And clone the MXR Carbon Copy!

Thanks I'm so inspired by all these posts. I watch/check this thread at least once a day for inspiration.

You are absolutely right.  I drilled the enclosure and was pissed they didn't fit, but then I had an idea to put the led there instead and switch the knob to the right hand side.  Slightly odd layout and I'll change it with the next boogey I make I think, but now there's much more room for my foot.  I'm still working on making the 'Rectifier' lettering white, but here it is in the meantime:

My new amp. Single ended, 12AX7 / 12AU7. Internal MAX1771 SMPS generating 240 volts from a 12 volt DC power pack. My best amp design so far I feel.........

Outstanding tube cages.  Is there a thread or listing somewhere of the cool stuff like this available for builders?  I recall a knob marked with 0 to 11 in a picture on here somewhere, but I lost track of it.

knealebrown, all of your pedals look so good...Nice works!!!

Thanks, on a more simple note my first real 'design' (no help  :icon_biggrin: which is somewhat of a milestone for me proving i can use my brain for once). Its a one loop true bypass switcher using a 12v relay (works with 9v) and a DPDT switch to throw power to the relay and LED. Plus i added a small signal diode to stop any back EMF getting into the signal chain. Its a simple design so i kept the exterior clean and simple.

The 5150 is a great amp.  Will you be able to provide audio samples when it is finished?  I would love to hear it.
