Nicely done! Looks to be a pretty successful experiment, what's the next phase?

@Frank_P:  Someone else here posted a pedal several pages back with a bake on decal. He later posted a YouTube video showing how he is unable to scratch the finished decal with a screwdriver.

Hi,

that was me.;) Have look on the page before you can see some of my most recent baked on designs - no one seems to have noticed them though:(. I always wanted to try it out with powdercoated enclosures but haven't until yet. Glad to see that it works perfectly well.:)

Cheers

Helge,

How are you able to get the color white with your baked on decals? Is the decal white?

Really great designs, as always. Maybe it´s also possible to use those "bake on" decals on enclosures that are painted with radiator enamel or coating for brake calipers? That should resist the heat...

@Steve: Yes, he uses white foil like this: http://www.pearl.de/a-VM5723-2421.shtml You print and apply it similar as a normal waterslide decal and bake the enclosure after that.

---ups, I clicked on "Quote" instead od "Modify".

btw: I´m missing an option to delete a post! Sometimes you write s.th. and realize that it´s complete bullshit ten seconds later...  ::)

Hello Stomboxes Diyers,

What I see all along this subject are pictures of tasteful, skilled artwork and high grade finishing job on your stomboxes... I simply do not have the knowledge, the perseverance nor the patience to go so far.
So my job is not so nice, but more technically affordable, I think.

Here are some samples :

tubelectron, I fixed your photos for you so I could see them. Nice looking pedals!

tubelectron

Yes !

I just don't know why it wouldn't work directly, and the additional operation you have made to fix this picture display problem (what is my mistake, so ?)

Anyway, thanks for your help, taylor.

A+!

My first etches.  Thanks to Tonepad and Smallbear for the tutorials and Tonepad and Runoff Groove for the layouts.  I am pretty happy with the results.  I can't wait to populate the boards.  The one on the left is a Tonebender and the right is an Umble.

tubelectron

Hi Talon5051 - congratulations for your 1st etches - I wasn't as successful as you are on that job, so I stayed on the vero method or the point-to-point wiring, as follow :

hope this time the pic will be here without the help of taylor...

Jep, they are available in white too as Immo already mentioned. But be carefull they are not as solid as the clear ones espacialy when not baked onto. Had several times trouble with cutting them out - the paint just chips of at the egdes. When baked onto the enclosure problems with that have gone - but I still have the feeling that they are a little less durable than the clear ones - though they are still 1000 times more durable than your ordinary waterslide decal. I think you will agree that this is the best method so far. Easy to apply, durable and professionel looking. A bit expansive but not too much, ay?;)
Btw.: Your build looks awesome! Inside as outside too! Realy dig your graphics - so much clarity but sill much to look at! Congrats mate!

Cheers

What's happening is the link in your [ img ] code goes to a page, not directly to the photo. So what I did was to take your link:

http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.php?id=199351IMG_4948.jpg

and paste that into a browser, and brings up a page. Then I click on the photo on that page and it goes to the photo directly. So then copy that URL address

http://img10.hostingpics.net/pics/199351IMG_4948.jpg

and just put it between and but without the spaces).

tubelectron

Thanks again Taylor - I think I see my mistake now : I used an incorrect link - let's try again :

And that works +++ : the rule was to use the "direct link" to the image, as you told me.

So what you see above is my hand-wired Double ToneBender.

I think you are being a little too modest in your abilities tubelectron.  Your pedals look really good.

Thanks Talon5051,
I tried several times to etch PCB and every time it took an ugly turn, so I am not akeen to try with a box... It's EVEN WORSE with the painting job on stomboxes : non-durable finishes, long time devoted to try to do something acceptable, but finally deceiving. So I work differently, and admire those who can do what I tried to do.
I apologize for my approximative english writing and understanding !

Every time I visit these pages I am amazed by the skill and creativity of people putting together these stompboxes. It is quite inspiring - great work all!
I'm inspired to go back to the small clone circuit thats been doing my head in for the past week and try and work out where the fault lies.
