@john, i love the way you treat your pedals like supermodels, and so you should..
brilliant pedals, magazine quality photo's,..proper pedal porn :icon_mrgreen:
and no crappy white washer too...(they always make a pedal look tacky i think..)..
its those little touches that do it for me!......rob....

@eniacmike...dont touch it!.. :icon_mrgreen:

Nice work. I checked out your video of this the other day. It would be nice to see how it sounds on different settings. What does the inside look like and how do you cut cursive letters into the enclosure?

My bro in law cuts the tops on a cnc machine. We're actually rolling the side for now.  Looking into getting some pipe that diameter so we're not doing near about so much prep work to get it right.  We're about to do our "real" logo on top. was confined to using that stupid j for everything and trying to tie it into a decent logo because we didn't know what we were really doing on the machine and used the closest thing we could that find that fit the feel I was going for with these pedals.

Inside's boring stripboard.  I'll take some pics of it and put it up.

Here's a bundle of goodies being sent up to a buddy of mine.
-Tube mic built from a kit with some mods w/ power supply, shock mount, extra tubes and cables in a custom case
-Ruby (white box on top)
-15W x 20 stereo amp (for driving unpowered monitors from an MBox (Black box under Ruby)
-SSM2166 based compressor pedal "Cram It" (I've posted that one here before, but oh well...)

I completely rebuilt the guts of the cram it to have a much better layout and greater reliability here are some before/after shots if anyone is interested (I'll post as links to avoid cluttering the board)

Before:http://www.mr2-power.com/oldguts.jpg
After: http://www.mr2-power.com/newguts.jpg

I basically eliminated all of the standard offboard wiring with my own switching daughterboard. That daughterboard connects to the main effect board through a 4 pin molex connector that carries ground, power, signal in and signal out. Switched to 9mm pots and used 3 pin molex connectors. The 2.1mm power jack is connected to the daughterboard by yet another molex connector that can pass through the internal nut. I basically wanted to be able to swap out any major component in the pedal without desoldering/soldering. Finally I hard-mounted the board to a pair of PCB standoffs that are epoxied to the inside of the box. Overkill? Probably... but it was a fun exercise. And considering the compressor came back to me due to some wiring that went bad, I didn't want to risk it happening again!

I love the nice clean look of these! Could you share how you make your face labels? Looks fantastic!

Sure. I think I've shared this in the past but...

I use a sign printing shop. Actually, I'm on my second shop in a different place so it should easily translate anywhere. I make up the graphics, and they print them for me on Clear Vinyl Decal stock. It's like clear sticker material. Anyway, they use foil to print the graphics, and they could do multicolour stuff if it's all solid colours - it's how I get white graphics, because they can print with white foil. Anyway, they also use a laser to cut out the decal for me, and I stick them on the pedals. Let them dry on, and then start to clear coat. I use a water clear polyurethane.

Not the best photo but here is a shot of two completed builds into 1590A's with one still in the works and my new Bass Microsynth   ;D

When your Microsynth-in-a-1590A is complete, then I'll be impressed.  ::)

Just kidding! Fitting anything in a 1590A impresses me.

14 Stage FET based phaser with multiple regen path options and parity modulation.

The wiring is a little messy, as I *assumed* it might need debugging, so I left them purposefully long. But it worked first time anyway. Actually, most of the wiring is hidden below the motherboard anyway, there's a second board hiding under there too. This was not a fun build. It has taken me 6 hours straight to wire it all up.

Major big ups to:

Steve Mavronis for etching the IDmark graphic for me.

Barry Bardell @ guitarpcb.com for making the PCB for me.

What kind of file format does your graphics have to be in for the sign shop to use them? I always wanted to do this for my bass drum head.

Hi all,

Recent joined, and recently completed my first 2 pedals. First off, I'm a complete noob to this, so mucho gracias to this forum and everyone involved. Most all my questions were answered during the builds. Well... here they are...

GGG Foxx tone machine clone on the left, and a veroboard Ampeg Scrambler clone to the right. The Scrambler doesn't disappoint. Wierd fuzz with octave "overtones". Works best with the tone on the guitar rolled off, especially on upper frets.

I'm still up in the air about the Foxx though. Has a TON of gain, so much so, that I have a bit of a hum that comes through when I stop playing, but disappears when I kick on the octave. Running on a battery makes no difference. Guess it might be the "Nature of the Beast". Really great fuzz though. Goes from silky smooth to all out mayhem. Octave can be like a nail in the head with some delay or heavy reverb. Just have to find a way to completely kill the hum.

Yeah, yeah... I know... I like the input / output left to right. Just my thing.

Cheers all!!!
