That Sencore is interesting.  I don't mean to toot my own horn, but my unit seems way more useful.
Yours doesn't have a parts drawer.

Nor a selenium rectifier. 80 year old vintage tech!

Well, I suppose resistors are older  :icon_rolleyes:

I know its not a pedal but it is instrumental in designing them... ;)

Could you please post a picture of the insides. I love this thing.
Cheers,
Chris

The wires are test points for when i had to tune the trimmers.

Maestro Ring modulator, was asked to do this one, and was lucky enough to find the MC1495 chip locally. It's one of those situations where it seems the thing was waiting there for me to buy it for the last few decades. It was the only one they had and it looks really old, it's brown and the shape is not like current chips.

Kinda sad that i probably wont be able to build another one ever again...

Nice work! I like the RM-1 I've made a few. It's a tough build but in the end it's a fun one.
Nice job with the voltage conversion... Looks veyr nice!

Good job on the censorship!  ;D

Any plans on sending it off into deep space?

Thanks! Yes, it's not exactly for beginners, and the information available isn't exactly "crystal clear". But i think the toughest part was setting the trimmers  :icon_lol: .
I think i went through the steps about 6 times and had to really concentrate not to mess it up.

I don't really feel very comfortable having 220v inside a pedal enclosure. I even bought the transformer, but decided to investigate these ICL7660S chips first. They worked out great, already have a few circuits in mind to apply them to.

It was a coincidence it ended up covered...

Ok, ok it was deliberate.  :icon_lol:

It's not for me to keep, who knows? Maybe the owner will (i hope not)  :icon_lol:

Taylor

Semi-seriously:

I think it might be a coincidence of our particular physiology and evolutionary psychology that humans hear frequency on a logarithmic scale. It seems plausible that beings evolved in a completely unrelated environment and evolutionary sequence would hear frequency on some other scale. Such a being might hear the (to us) atonal clangs of ring modulation as quite consonant, actually.

Therefore, to jettison this nice pedal into space might make perfect sense, assuming that aliens have so far only figured out how to make tube screamers, and since it follows that tube screamers must sound like ring modulators to them with linear frequency perception. QED

Nice build Galego, sounds very good!

Funny tho, I can't think of a single song with a ring modulator on it  :icon_eek:

Nice pedal Galego.

I was wondering where did you get those alpha pots with the longer leads from and if you know their part number... I have been wanting to try those out.

Thanks!
