i always wondered how these pro pcb's are made!is there a machine or something?

Here's my first stomp based on my own design of a booster of volume and mid frequency.

Correct.
Consider also that one of the pots is a stereo one, so taller than usual.
By the way this is my first project, I'll consider different solution next time.

A method I sometimes use is to drill a hole a either end and 'chop out' the rest with a handheld jigsaw. It still requires a bit of filing to get the edges straight, but I find this method much quicker than drilling lots of holes.

Sometimes you have no choice depending on your overall design. In my builds the way the PCB is pot mounted, it hangs a half inch in between the top and bottom of the enclosure so I have to put the DC jack on the side across from the footswitch. Why should it make any difference to others? I'm building for my own use and not for commercial sales to anyone who wouldn't like it.

Here are some more pics.
In gut shots details are not so clear... fortunately, I've much to learn.

nice!..like the whiskey...always goes well with a fine build i find... :icon_cool: :icon_cool: :icon_cool:

@steve, those dc sockets are big though!...12.6 mm.. :icon_eek: :icon_wink:

i think it was a general enquiry...ive always though they make the pedal board a bit messy..i prefer mine out of the top end out of the way..

but hey theres a whole thread on this on here ...somewhere!...about the merits of both!..subjective i suppose!... :icon_wink:

If you're not going to use batteries,  Mode makes a 8mm power jack.

@ alfio - very nice and A++ on breadboard setup. Gonna build one this week.

@ Steve - Snap-in 2.1mm jacks smaller diameter, these are .79 in 10s http://www.mouser.com/catalog/specsheets/KC-300872.pdf Good if it won't be moving/twisted.
It's all about the tone!
