yeah the Prom GF pedal I posted a couple of pages ago in this thread is a 6" LMB Heeger enclosure. I got at Fry's. Mouser carries them. I found the aluminum a little tougher to machine than the 15xx boxes, but it worked well having a tall, sloped enclosure which could accommodate the tube heights.

Mouser does carry those Hammond boxes, and there's another company called LMB Heeger that has enclosures in that style, also available on Mouser.

Was the one you bought from fry's bare metal like your PM?  Or did you sand it down?  I forgot that fry;s had those. I like em...

They were selling both bare metal and painted! No sanding needed.

I've only seen the painted ones, which are the harm perc colors.  Don't mind the look of those, but unpainted ones seem really appealing.  I wanted to strip mine down and do an etch but didn't feel like doing the work.  I have some newly arrived GGG Brassmaster boards, one of those slopers may be just right...

It works just fine. There are a few changes on my build.
The 2k pot was a 5k with a 5.1k across the lugs.
The 25k pot was a 100k with a 39k  across the lugs.
The 20pF was subbed with a 100pF
C12 was subbed with an electro as I ran outta non polar.
Oh and I had to put a 20nf and 10nF in parallel for the c21.

I biased the jfets all to 4.5v or near as damnit. It sounds fantastic. I may yet tweak the bias to see, but for me the level of hiss is totally acceptable for such a high gain circuit.
I used shielded cable throughout, as you can see a bit longer than I should have but I wanted things flexible and did the wiring outside of the enclosure.

My only gripe is my big 1nF box caps and the 100pF wimas are too big really for this layout. I dare say ceramics for the small values woulda worked well.
All in all it was a squeeze but it works first time, no issues. The tone controls (the treble in general) seem very "interactive". Is this expected / normal?

In hindsight my trimmers arent ideal either, Trim 1 and 2 are above R1 and R2...
see C5 - too big really, its sat on top  of R6.
C16 and C16 a bit close too.

"Real" hammonds are expensive for me in the UK. It would likely fit in the BB though.

If you fancy a change sometime and use Rapid, they do enclosures even cheaper than the Eddystone (and coincidentally, are the cheapest I found for the Eddystones too) which have more curved corners.
The smallest "b" size is less than £3....

They do the proper Hammonds inc coloured ones but they are rich. Still, better than Banzai I spose.
